some of the most reliable tractors ever sold in NZ, came fresh from Japan
the ISEKI T6500, 7000,9000 are still very dersirable by vege growers in NZ.....creeper box and resonable tech, only 20-25years old now.........not many left round with less than 10000hours on them
some T9000 with a turbo, and intercooler and duals, were comparable to a JD4450 in the field.....not bad for a 90hp jap tractor (with a few extra ponies)
that was in the days, when NZ contractors had trouble finding good high hp tractors whic were MFWD,
really the international hydro 84 was a pretty remarkable machine, i know of a few guys who got feed up with the 4 pot, removing it in favour of a 6 pot, then putting them to work on silage choppers
on still works as a hedge trimmer in my fathers area,

Why were they comparable ?? Because of Deere's poor hydro fwd, the Iseki's being customised that high, or the Deeres just pulling hardly ??
Phil: Yes indeed. Thats an achievement to write home about !! How blue did it smoke ?? It must have been using some oil then...

50 series JD had the mechanical 4wd
the iseki was spinning 130hp on the pto ;D , reliably
with hp, diesel fuel, and fluid in the tires,
you can achieve about anything, also the jd is powershift, perma clutch, iseki was dry clutch, mechanical gearbox, was less drive line loss
50 series deere was another very very reliable tractor, neighbour of my fathers has a 4650 with other 10000 hours trouble free on it, they were also good 3pt linkage and pto machines......

Now, most of you probably expect me to say "Just about any Fendt model will do" and sure, most of them will. But if I should point out any I would say the Farmers 306, 308 and 309, and some of the Favorit 600:s and maybe especially the 612 - 145 Hp. But I also agree with Lee about the IH 956 and 1056. And added to these I must bring one of the most reliable tractor ever to be working in our country at least, the BM-Volvo 350 Boxer. This little 58 Hp tractor did a lot of very heavy work on many of the bigger farms here in the sixties and very often they did 20.000 hours. Most of these hours were however often made with more Hp than the original 58.

Yes, the average 612 is very reliable. However, the one my brother drove at hte contractor had lots of trouble, not honourable for the rest of the series. (that's all i wanted to say... We have had these discusions enough in the past, about "any fendt" and the such.. All manufacturers have their bads, dont they?? ) ;D Hey Pudding, what engine did that Iseki have ?? I must say i'm not very fond of Japanese stuff, but that sounds good indeed !! Maybe you should hook it up to HPP's 612 !! ;D ;D I hear more stories about ps Deeres not pulling as hard as they should do...

Iseki uses Isuzu engines.

ya renze
that tractor had a 6 litre 6BD1 isuzu motor in it
if you look closely at a hitachi EX150 excavator........you will find that motor in those machines.........in a excavator i have heard those motors are good for 30000hours (mind you at constant RPM........engines do live a long time!)

Hitachi has a good name over here... Isuzu must be doing something good, however the 1.7 liter Isuzu Diesel engines in the smallest Opel vans are not very good...

Renze,
afaIk the 1.7 was not an Isuzu but an Opel engine. You're right about the terrible reputation. "One of the most expensive engines to run" I read once.

Newer Opels have Isuzu engines. They do good jobs, also in Saab cars.

opel is in the same company (GM) as ISUZU vehicles,
in NZ they sell the ISUZU pickup as a HOLDEN RODEO, it is a 2.8 turbo diesel, great truck
the opel vectra was called the holden vectra in NZ.....
ISUZU sell vehicles as ISUZU and HONDA in america,
isuzu diesel engines have always been impressive.

They are sold here, but i cant remembe the exact name.. Opel Montery and frontera. or something like that... The Frontera does have Isuze tech. (at least the engine) www.opel.de/showroom/frontera/I think the montery, or monterey, was an Isuze trooper.

Is this board fiction or non-fiction because I have read some real whoppers on here. Sorry calling it as I see it. I don't know about you all but there isn't a 90hp tractor in the world that will do the same work as a 4455 and I don't even care for Deeres that is just insane. Mr. Renze the question was for most reliable not worse tractor, rebuilt tranny, tractor losing oil, and only staying together with drive shafts after all the bolts vibrated out, you are lucky to be living. Did you all hear this one This guy had a oliver 88 with 76,000 hours on still runs original oil and tires it does the same amount of work as a cat challenger and holds two land speed records for farm tractors at salt flats and 4 world ploughing titles in the 10 bottom class.

Eat some more valium to stay in that sleepy mood, the real world would be too desillusioning for you... Do you realy think that you cant believe us, and Do believe the spin doctors ?? ;D ;D This board community doesn't get bothered by spin-doctor talk, people ar man enough to have their own opinions, and that's why i like it. Funny guy, dont make it too funny....
