it seems to be quiet here...
Where is everybody ?
I've been busy catching up, from AutoCAD to the 3D age, with One Space designer (light version of Pro/E) at my new job. not much time to fool around the various forums lately.
You busy harvesting ? Corn silage ? wheat ? already doing fall tillage ?

corn silage now. my brother's bringing out a Deere 7930 IVT tractor to run the chopper so he knows what he's doing when he demo's it for customers (new Deere salesman). Then fill a couple bags of snaplage and then get the combines in to finish corn and get the beans off. Then clean barns and start plowing.

just busy working, fixing machinery, i check here daily, its just the topics don't interest me much,
made a hyd hose for a tana rubbish compacter today, fittings for a actros to test the powersteer pump, made a aircon hose for a sterling with merc 6 cylinder motor in it, after that took my fuel tank of my vintage tractor back to the tractor after cutting it, shortening it by 5in (got a engineer to tig it back together), and shifting the filler hole to fit into a tight spot under the chassis rail, infront of the rear right trumpet housing, all this so i can fit some 9x28 rims, and get the front wheels to line up with the rear
hopefully over the next few days, after work i can finish the fuel tank brackets, remove it all, sandblast and paint all the bits, rear rims, the genuine wheel weights i got, and find some 10-28 tires to mount,

Hey all.. After long time something, here north we have very late harvesting time. It's near end now.We have had, again, complicated season.Firstly very long dry period afted seeding, then during august very wet period.Anyway gold summer.Result is that we started harvestin about 3 weeks later as normally. Our problem is increasing costs, like everywhere, but specially grain drying has been hard job this year.
I have been out from my normal dayjob whole summe, but still busy with all kind of contracting:seeding, spraying, house disassembly,etc..
I have had bad luck with machinery, lot repairwork during summer...
BUT,still going stronly forward

Infeed chain on cornhead went into NH900 chopper today. Metalert didnt pick it up. Think this is the last year for that machine. Being Sunday, there was no place to get a new gathering chain, infeed roll aint too bad, and need 12 new knives for cutterhead. Rough day, but part of it was good..... that'll be in another thread.

Tomato harvest is at least half-way through... the canning factories are humming. Soybean harvest started a couple weeks ago and is in full swing. Seed corn has been going on for a while, but the regular corn harvest is still pretty much a couple of weeks away. Here's a video that shows the tomatoes from greenhouse to field to factory to cans... www.redgold.com/red_gold_company/ppf_behind_scenes.asp
