Fred: I first said No-till wont work over here. Then i mentioned the combination of tillage elements in one machine, of which i think will work best if you want to till&drill in one pass, without ploughing. This reduces the number of passes, not the number of working elements. I did not mean to say that this is no-till or reduced till. I tried to describe the best way to reduce tillage passes, and most important: seeding without ploughing. About recreational tillage: On our 1.5 hectare of ploughed land a year, i'm glad with every square meter i can plough

FFF I too have a Vaderstad 3M ;D It works great at re-establishing poached grass and on disced earth this year I Drilled 60 acres (24.3 ha) into stubble but due to the dry establishment conditions and the v left in the soil where the disc cut and was never filled in I think I may have to write off 30 acres. From now on it will be plough or disc for me

Hey Triple-F, As an alternative to the Carrier I could recommend you to look into the Dal-Bo Dinco. This is the type of cultivator that has rigid tines and that cuts the soil over the whole widht. Works really nice - and efficiently, it works best at around 10 - 12 km/h.
About no- or mini till : In our area there are quite a few farmers who practise no-till after sugarbeets this year. I myself think I really would have liked to cultivate a few cm (7-10?) before drilling but it seems to work OK. The crop after the beets is wheat.
