What is TOR ?
These MeMo tractors look like the old Deutz --06 series, with a Walter Mauser cab or something like that.

These MeMo Tractors look like the old Deutz 06 Series. But there were never MeMo Tractors produced in Germany. A few years ago you could have "Torpedo" tractors from yugoslavia in Germany. They were lincense build Deutz of the 06/07 and first DX Series. I thinky these MeMo´s are the same thing as those Torpedos... for a pic of the Torpedos look here: (scroll down) www.farmphoto.com/homestead/message.asp?mid=9387eppie: The mounted cab is similar to that what was availiable as factory option on the Deutz 06/07 Series.

So TOR is short for Torpedo.
Hey guys, did you know the missile is named after the inventor of it, namely the Torpedo weapon factory? it is the same as what now is the tractor factory. I dont know if they still make weapons there.

I tried found some views of Torpedo manufacturer and i found this text,it's prom economical newspaper. It seems to me that Toroedo have today Slovenian owner
Slovenia's Koroski holding and newly established Limb company signed late in November a lease contract with Croatia's tractor producer Torpedo in Rijeka, which has recently went bankrupt. Under the terms of the contract, the Slovenians are to revitalize the production by the end of 2004, when the lease expires. Another Slovenian company, the Koper-based Cimos, purchased the Croatian agricultural equipment manufacturer, Labin Progres, famous for its motor cultivators. For a nearly 100% stake, the Slovenians paid Sit111m ($435,000), intent to invest another Sit4bn ($15.6m).

I beleive these tractors were marketed as TAS, also. They were offered in the early nineties and resembled the DX3 series. Had the same model numbers as the Deutz-Allis 6200 series.

Could TAS be CAS ??
CAS is the producer of the green Crystal tractors, mentioned in an earlier post on this forum.

Renze,
I am thinking the "T" in TAS might have been for Torpedo, not for sure. These TAS models were marketed by MeMo Industrial Planning Group, Dallas,Tx. They also marketed the Deutz-Fahr hay line after Agco bought the former Deutz-Allis company from KHD. Have a brochure on them some where, if I find it I will post it here. MeMo offered hay tools with a MeMo brand name also.

Hey Kevanos, I remember at a farm show, MeMo had a couple of the TAS 6000 series tractor there on display. I think they were maketing them along with some MeMo hay equipment. I picked up a brochure from them but can't seem to find it.

Hi Kevanos, I found the TAS brochure for the 6200 series tractors. There were 4 models from 52 to 78 hp. Deutz engine with Carraro transmissions and final drives. Ran across a site for MeMo. www.memoparts.com/
