CASE IS DEAD !!!!! Well, i think Case in Europe is dead. Is the Magnum/TG series the onliest surviving Case ?? I sure hope that McCormick solves the problems with the MXM trannies the others on this forum spoke about. the first picture is fake, the tractor is pasted into that landscape. How many brands have disappeared with the CNH merger? If you start counting in the beginning, that must be some 20 brands. I have lost my sight on the orgin of all those CNH series. What will happen to Steyr?? Steyr antriebstechnik was bought by ZF, and still making trannies for Lindner. Will we see something big and great from Lindner?? They could bolt a Perkins in front of a ZF tranny, to fill the possible gap. But if Steyr antriebstechnik belongs to ZF, who owns the S-matic CVT tranny?? I sure hope Lindner will do something with the abandoned Steyr concepts. (even if they use a Perkins) This is a milestone in history. Two big ones what ate smaller, ate each other, abandoning little ones, and the little ones grow strong from the blood of the big ones. This is a vampire story. maybe we can watch McCormick and Lindner grow strong from this. How long will it take before the magnum will be only available in blue TG ?? I think this is the same manouvre as they did with Ford and Fiat. They say they wont, but they will. Again with the reason of cost cutting. September 2008: interview with the CNH chairman. "we are making the same technology under three different names. Why spend extra money on two different colors, sales channels etc. We want to cut costs, and decided to go under one marketing channel and name: Fresh Ditch Earth."

Yes it could be Case dead. But look at cars market, all the little make are now in a new younger age. Look Jaguar, Bentley, Lamborghini,... People wants a be different to others, maintanance of all makes could help to this. The paint isn't expensive, the most expensive is I+D By the way if you want a TL now you can go to NH dealer for a prize and then go to Case dealer for other, now you can choose the better value But now i was a little sad for all this CNH launches. Case with NH repainted and NH with a different style, too much different? But this is the progress...

Yes Xavier, you're right. But if NH have Iveco or NH engines and Case still Cummins then a lot of people may buy his tractor thinking in the engine. I think Cummins is better than NH-Ford but i'm not sure with the Iveco-Aifo. The TX with Iveco-Aifo are stronger than in the old Fords.

I like the looks of the Turkish tractors, might change my mind though in real life.
Yes, Renze only the Magnum/TG and Stieger/TJ are not of NH/Ford/Fiat design. But Case has always been more concerened with the bigger tractors. They have not had a tractor of their own under 75 hp since the 70 series.
I'm wondering about the Steyr line myself still. They have not said much about them yet. ZF owns the S-Matic/S-Tronic now.

I certainly hope Lindner will reincarnate the 9000 series.

What i said before is false. My cousin went to Madrid yesterday to the the new MXM. All MXM have Iveco engine, not Cummins and the tranny is from the NH. So it's the same tractor. A lot of Case fan were disgusted with CNH when the Case guy explain the MXM specifications.

Fear not cummins is working with Iveco to make the next series of engines for the MXM . As a Case dealer I see the new ranges as very good, diving us a complete range, of tractors to sell as before we were very limited (MX has only one gearbox we are now getting no end of options, whilst keeping our big guns, the Magnum & Steiger. most of my customers are aware and happy with whats happening (especially with the MX gearbox problems). cheers Simon

I think Si is right here guys. Case brand will not be finished as they will loose customers.
All the new options are only going to make it a stronger product.

I agree with Lee and Si, but thats a UK view, looking at posts elsewhere US feeling is a little different, they seem more colour sensitive.
I hope this time is different but look at history.
Case buys David Brown- separate identities for some years then all Case. Tenneco buys IH, Case and IH separate for short time, then one line and rationalisation. Fiat/Ford merger management say they'll keep seperate identities/models/dealers as the Case / IH merger resulted in lost sales, 1+1<2. A few years and dealers were selling blue and terracotta then the terracotta ones disappeared. CNH merger/takeover management state separate dealers/models/market segment. In the UK they said dealers would not sell both makes, then not from same depot. Looking at websites of US dealers it seems many are offering red and blue from the same depots.
Time will be the only thing that shows what will happen, but don't hold your breath.

There is a new line of tractors being tested as we speak to replace the ts nh tractors and the equivilant caseih and steyr tractors it has the all new cummins-nh-iveco engine with 4-6 cylinder engines an 2-4 valve combinations with conventional and common rail fuel systems, it is a all new tractor test drove it in Basildon. The looks of this tractor does take alittle to get used to but for you europeans that think the s-series valmets look good you should love it, I guess its no secret what europeans find attractive in design of tractors is different then what most north Americians do.

When NH and Case-IH merged we knew that there would be alot of shared technology(fancy term for common platform). I figured that any lower hp tractors would be scourced through NH and the big stuff would come from Case. That was easy, all you had to do was look at what plants they were selling. Therefore, we shouldn't be surprised by what Case-IH had to show at Madrid. As far as Case being dead, not to sure about that. At least not in North America. There market share here is larger than NH. I think they will keep both lines. Steyr, is a hard one to figure though. It looks like the neglected child. CNH has not done much to promote this make. In my view they should, as I consider Steyr to be an excellent brand. With the financial condition of CNH at the present there is a possiblity that Steyr could be sold. Hope I haven't started a rumor or added to one.Lindner? Would fit nicely. A JX link 195.87.28.180/english/prod02.htmA TD link htp://195.87.28.180/english/prod01.htm A red or blue Turk Traktor. The choice is yours.
