You are correct. The 5020 tractors of John Deere, as featured on the AgMachinery pages a while ago, complete with picture, will be produced at Mannheim. As far as i know John Deere is not happy with the quality of the old 5010 tractors as sold in Europe or the US. Also the marketshare isn't as high as JD expected or hoped for. By building them by theirselves quality and sales should improve. Dealers as i have heard are very anxious to see and to sell the new 5020 tractors.

Is the 5020 a renewed 5010 or based on the old 50 series?? (1650, 2850, etc.)

As far as know they the specs are based on the current 5010-series, the tractor itself looks a lot like the 6020 series.
