Simon,
I went to our local dealers test drive afternoon a few days ago. Nothing was mentioned then although they were harpin gon about providing a full range of equipment in the future.
All they had at the demo was tractors and a combine.
Perhaps a Sprayer range? or even a telescopic?

It could be the new McCormick combine series (laverda) or the new 200 Hp+ tractor range.

Ok, laverda combines. Thats a logical next step.
But how will McCormick get 200+ hp tractors?? The Funk powershift will be no problem, but Perkins doesn't build good tractor engines in this hp range, The deal with CNH said that they are not allowed anymore to use Cummins.. A Sisu engine will make a MF 'lookalike' and is strategically a bad move. So as with Deere and Deutz.
Will they use Cat engines?? CNH will keep the Case powershift, so they wont sell it to McCormick

McCormick has now their own transmission factory (France), so they can develop very fast new products. I read in dutch magazine "trekker & werktuig" a couple of months ago that they want to develop their own Continue Variable Transmission. Mccormick could also develop a Full Powershift transmission with Landini.....

Yes, that could be easy, a CVT.
To simplify it, grab a pump and a motor from Sauer, sundstrand or those hydro guys, make a planetary drive, and find a few nerds to program the PLC. then you're done.
I am 100% sure they wont make a full powershift, the market for it is ending in Europe. Besides, there are not many 200+ tractors sold, so they wont develope too much for it.
I should not expect too much from just a factory, developing a transmission takes more than just a production facility. Besides, Landini has facilities too, and prototypes arent build on an ordinary mass production line.

McCormick could use a Perkins engine in the larger models. Perkins has the 1306 series engine, I guess it is available for ag use.

Buhler with the old NH 70/G Series will be looking for a European outlet. The supply contract is up with Nh this year (plus they bring the TG). Buhler will be looking for all the sales he can get to keep that factory open Just has to open a can of red paint and get the spray guns going..... (oh yea and dealer service training, parts supply, warranty support, new features.........

Kenjar:
If Perkins has engines for agricultural use above 200 hp, why does MF use Sisu engines?? Perkins is a daughter company of MF...
Stu:
I didn't think of that option... You might be right!
Will they use the 7.5 liter powerstar?? that would not be very nice for the old McCormick lovers.
Maybe Buhler and McCormick start Joint-Venture ! both would benefit from it.

I remeber seeing a movie, can't remeber the name right now, where one of the characters stated he had the solution to end racism in the world: "Everybody fucks everybody untill everybody is the same color"! (I'm using the F-word since it is a quote, convinced it will automatically edited). Given the recent and past history of buyouts and badge engineering, one would think this should have happened to tractors by now. Now, if we mix all colors you get grey. LANZ were grey tractors LANZ are nowadays John Deere ...thus all tractors are John Deere

Renze,
I think you are wrong about Perkins. The engine-company is owned by Cat not by MF or Agco. It was years ago. But i think it is true that the 200+ hp engines of Perkins aren't that good. If they were Agco would use them. If i am correctly they still choose between Cat, Cummins or Sisu.

All - Glad we've got the Perkins engines thing sorted; yes, Perkins is owned by Caterpillar these days, which means you can buy a small 'Cat' engine that's made by Perkins and a big 'Perkins' engine that's made by Caterpillar. So maybe that provides the solution for a bigger McCormick.
As for a 'McCormick launch', remember some dealers are just coming to McCormick and will be inviting farmers to see what they (the dealer and McC) have to offer in terms of the new models (115hp MC) and new/improved models (MTX).
A new dealer told me the other day he is taking orders and getting plenty of enquiries, even though he's been signed up just a few weeks. Customers shown the MTX have said at first: "It's just a Case". But when they drive it and experience the quieter Perkins engine and cab, he said they reckoned it was "a different tractor".
