Hi people,
I hear along the roads, and at dealers, about several unwanted second hand models. Why are they unwanted?? the poor quality of the tractor itself, or of the dealer, is the hype over, or does the technical style of a badge-engineered product differ too much from the original products of that brand?
for example: In the Dutch Agritrader magazine, you can see loads of Fendt Varios. Is their quality poor, is the Vario-hype over and everybody drops the Vario and buys their own brand again (maybe since Deere, Deutz and Case/Steyr introduced the Autopowr/TTV/CVT/CVX models?? )
Another example: A contractor who has Case for years (especially a dozen of 1455's) and tried the Case CS, drops the CS, he didn't like it because of quality. The Case CS 150 is a badge-engineered Steyr 9145, they cant be that bad for its big price??
one more example: The English manufactured Case/international models. most people agree that the Case 3200/4200 series are not a compliment to the old McCormick brand name. But are the rest of the english Case so bad?? e.g. the 85 and 95 series??
you say it.
goed goan, Renze

Are the Fendt the 700 or are they the old 900? If someone could buy it at a good price and then sell at here in Catalonia, it someone could make some money. Here are very well considered the Fendt vario. I think every tractor is correct for a job, and for a price. A 3050 at a good price it a good support trac, but not at the prize that someone (you know who FL6...) wants to sold. I have looking for a second hand tractor, but at the prizes i have seen (mascus, traktorpool, and some dealers here) it isn't a correct decision, buy new with some retail and gov help its cheaper.

About the Fendt: i was talking about all Vario models.
You said every tractor is correct for a job, and for a price. That means Fendt is totally incorrect with their 300 series. Some idiots ask 8000 Euro for a 308 with wrecked (conventional 21 spd) transmission and 12,000 hrs...
The other Fendts are blowing away their head gaskets. (MWM engines) Why, in such an expensive tractor??
The neighbor of my mate has a 3050. Nothing than trouble, it wont pull. There are more bad tractors running out there, it doesn't even matter how expensive they are. The high price for a Fendt is more the exclusiveness than ruggedness.

Hey Renze,
Certain tractors sometimes get tainted early in their lifecycle. Then once some of them get a few years under their belt the manufacturers tend to work the bugs out of them. Then they tend to sell once the stigma wears off.
Over here there are plenty of major brand tractors sitting around that are 1 to 4 years old. Some are lease returns, some are short duration rollovers. Most of these are just way too expensive compared to new prices. The companies are leaving the dealer hanging out to dry on these deals(Deere seems to be the worse of them). there are even more combines than tractors in this condition in some places!!

I suport you Renze, the 300C is a tractor i couldn't understand. At 2001 when the new series come i think that Fendt will put a new ps transmision with reverser clutch free. A Massey 4300 is a better machine, in my opinion at a value performance rate.
The 300C i s for anybody who want a Fendt because he want a Fendt and no more reasons for buying one.
The second hand tractors are at a overated prizes. 12000 hours is too much hours for 8000euros.
