There are many 651-4 and 651-2 Renault's running around here. To major faults with these tractors are weak front axles (4wd), and rather poor transmission forks in the hi-lo shifter. Parts are hard to get and quite expensive.

Engines are MWM, same as in Fendt. In former years we have been told, that trannies are ZF. But that was wrong. They shall have own Renault.
The older Renaults are good reliable tractors, a bit underrated in my eyes.

I know of a 155-54 that had more 3pt lift capacity than its halfshafts could handle... IT was used with a Maschio rotor harrow and built-on Kockerling seeder, with 2 packer rolls of solid steel.... when they took off the duals and put it on single 800/65 R32 tires, the halfshafts held..
My neighbour traded his 651 for a brand new Valtra M800. His biggest problem with the 651-2 was the featherlight front end, when carrying a silage block cutter on the 3pt hitch, mower/conditoners.... Well i could add to the list, because the front end was so light that it was useless for any job a 65-70 hp tractor normally does, without additional ballast.
Oh, they do use the same series of MWM engines as Fendt, though Fendt uses Bosch pumps and Renault had them with the French (and slightly less durable) Lucas-CAV roto pumps.
Renault builds its own transmissions and took the trannies of the 94 series (175 and 190 hp ?) from Same. These were nightmare tractors and nowadays are worth less than a Belarus.
Since the era of the Ares model, Renault uses MF transmissions on all the bigger models from 100 hp up, and offers their older late 1980's transmissions as alternative on the tractors of up to 150 hp.
