adam, I've seen both Dyna Step and CVT, but not the 8600 series, 8690 specifically. There's plenty of the 8280's around.

They have also sold the large engines plant to an investment company, that resurrected the name MWM. MWM was owned by Deutz since 1985. www.deutzpowersystems.de/I thought that SAME owned a major part of Deutz engines or is that a separate entity?

Yes, Same has a small stake in Deutz engines. Volvo holds a major stake, and uses the 5.7 and 7.1 liter in their trucks and construction machinery.
Same holds Deutz Ag fully. (though DF haying machinery was sold to Greenland, now Kverneland)

Hmmm Swiss Farmer, i must be behind time then... I couldnt remember which one had increased its stake in Deutz engines lately... I guess it was the other way around then..
