The factory in Beauvais is owned by AGCO, not Massey Ferguson. It builds tractors in many of AGCO's brands.

Fendt is the sophisticated one and Massey was the one with an easier to use control system. The Valtra and Massey will be pretty much the same, in so far as they have the same engine and transmission, so how are they going to differentiate between the Massey and Valtra brands? Will a different cab and panels be enough? Maybe they should let the Vatra have the Sisu engine and power the Massey with something else??

I think AGCO/Valtra assume that calling the cvt somthing else other then Fendt, now AVT is going to be enough. In the time CNH are segreating there brands, I wonder what is really going on?
R&D cash drying up?

R&D cash drying up, they DID develope a new 5 step powershift for the mid hp ranges... Where the biggest numbers are sold... Now really, what big tractors do have unique features ? There are only Deere, Fendt/Valtra/MF, Case/New Holland offering a conventional frame tractor in the 250+ hp market. The choice is now of 4 different drivelines, 3 different transmissions. What do high end tractor buyers expect ?

Hey I visited yesterday local farm exhibition. Valtra really launched new models. As here is said big S serie is manufactured in France and technically it is similar with big MFs excluding cab and transmission program and some minor things.
Valtra also launched two new transmission types under 210 hp class.Names are Versu and Direct.Direct is AVT. Basicly there is nice many nice ideas in same backage: -both new transmissions have same 4 step area gearbox -5 step tranny and AVT is installed to same size box -5 step tranny have inside old 3 step tranny+2 steps with added axle
So,after that is easy make different models because amount of ghanging parts is minimized.
AVT tranny is Valtras own design, different system comparing Vario.
My opinion is that we would be proud about new Valtras.

FFF, so they just kept the old transaxle design, but hooked on a different powershift (versu or IVT instead of deltashift) ??

FFF, so they just kept the old transaxle design, but hooked on a different powershift (versu or IVT instead of deltashift) ?? --the middle frame and gearbox in Versu/Direct is totally new. Also fuel tank is now installed outside steel frame. --Valtra have only used old DeltaPS system as one part of 5-step Versu.

To me that sounds like they have abandoned their old transaxle design... and have become more mainstream. Maybe Fendt will use a Versu in a 300 Farmer series in the future ?

I realize AGCO owns Valtra, Fendt, Massey, Challenger, etc..... My point was that it is historically the Massey factory, and is referred to as the Massey Ferguson factory by AGCO.

Just read on a Dutch website that the new Fendt 200 series with vario transmission, will get a Sisu engine... Deutz still builds a full line of engines from 12 hp and up, so i cant see why they would try to back out of the small 100hp and below market... They have also sold the large engines plant to an investment company, that resurrected the name MWM. MWM was owned by Deutz since 1985. www.deutzpowersystems.de/

Interesting that Deutz Power Systems is now MWM, again. MWM in Brazil sold out to Navistar (International) not too long ago.

Interesting that Deutz Power Systems is now MWM, again. MWM in Brazil sold out to Navistar (International) not too long ago. MWM do Brasil is operating in a whole different market segment than the reborn MWM... IT would be expensive to operate and market in two entirely different markets with a 300 hp gap inbetween..
