I was wondering: IH sold also a 733 an 833 in the 33 series... I thought the 633 4wd already looked like a souped up vineyard tractor, with its light duty axle and funny propshaft, remembering me of the front PTO shaft mounted high along the engine, on a Belarus BX100 that ran in my area years ago.
I dont think they ever sold a 733 and 833 in my area, there are loads of 633, 744 and 844 though. (local dealer said he only sold quality IH tractors, which meant he didnt sell the English built ones)
Were these higher powered 33 series tractors a succes ? I'd guess 80hp is over the limit for a small frame 2500kg tractor...

Local Farmer ran a 533 4wd (or was it a 633?) in the early 80`. They always had probs with the engine and the front drive. CanĀ“t remember that I have seen a larger one then a 633. This german side: www.ihace.de/01_schlepper/schlepper_index.htmhas them listed. I have a salesbrochure for IH from ending 70`...not sure where, but I will check

According to ihace.de its D-179 engine was also used in earlier 523 and 553 models. Of the English models (probably these models, when their assembly was moved to Doncaster and they were called 3200 or 4200 series) i did hear of problems with too light backends. The local IH dealer said he only sold GOOD IHC's, when i asked him what he meant, is that he didnt sell the English ones. Speaking of the era, these were the 3200 and 4200 tractors (based on the Neuss built 33 series ?) Reason i ask, is that a Swiss guy at farmphoto, has posted a picture of his 833 lifting a 3 furrow reversible Kverneland, which looks like asking for trouble, as some 633 already had backend problems. If you look on the pics on this leaflet, the tractor program at printing date of this leaflet didnt include any 33 series larger than 633: www.ihace.de/01_schlepper/0633/633specs.htm

I stumbled over an Advertisment from 2001 in a Vintage tractor magazin. There was a Deere-Dealer offering an used 733. So they have been sold here.

Renze.
3200 + 4200s are totally different m/c related to previous 95s, 85s, 84s 74s which originally comprised 454, 474/475, 574 & 674 made in the 70,s
33 series were built @ Neuss in Germany and St Dizier, France,
Production in France finished (I Think) i around 1987 but continued in Neuss until 1990 when 33 series was transferred to Doncaster to allow Neuss to be tooled for 5100s Maxxum.
When 33 series production ended they changed to 40 series with Futaba digital dashboard, 533 became 540, 633 became 640 Etc,etc. Largest models were 933 & 940. German production used cabs from Fritzmier whilst French production used Timmerman, Doncaster used Timmerman Cabs.
Hope this clarifies things !!!
