I am an English tractor enthusiast reserching the history into EBRO tractors manufactured in Spain.
In 1976 the models 470 & 684 were shown in England and I believe a few were sold - I saw one in 1988 in Wiltshire.
In 1980 the models 6080, 6010 & 6125 were imported but none were sold.
I am interested to learn about the 6000 Series - who made them? The engines were Perkins, but the rear axle & transmission was new design - Landini was suggested.
The last models under Kubuta ownership has Nissan engines. What make of transmission was used.
ANY HELP you can give me please will be most welcome. I can exchange info & photos with you

Hi Dinas, I think Ebro begun manufacturing tractors in the early 60s under licence of Ford. At least the oldest model I have known, Ebro Super 55, was based in a Fordson tractor. It's difficult to find any spanish farmer who has not owned an Ebro Super 55. I remember many of them were still working at the end of the 70's. Uploaded with ImageShack.usMy uncle had a 684E. Nice tractor although a very raw tractor compared to an IH 844 for instance. There were plans to launch a much more sophisticated Series of Ebros, but production costs and marketing reasons stopped the project. I have a picture of the prototype but I will need some days to find it. Then they launched the more economic 600 series. Yeah the 6125 (125 hp) was the biggest one. They still had success despite the strong introduction of Fiat and Same in the Spanish market, Deere (always there), IH or Deutz. These days I'm a bit busy with my concept combine, but in a couple of weeks I think I will be able to find some information to aswer your doubts.

Outside of Spain they had not been sold in big numbers. I remember one which I have seen in real in mid 80´s, which was MF licensed. There´s a guy in the Caseman´s ATF, which names hisself David Ebro, which owns this Ford-Ebro. Also check the members list for Sebas. He is from Spian and even should help You out. I have 2 Ebros in my collection, both made by Joal www.joal.es/ing/colec.php?idcoleccion=24&idproducto=85not sure which tractor they are based on. The one in link I have bought while I was in spain for work in 1989. The other one should be a bit older, but looks similar to a european IHC of the 523/624 series. But this one has the typical colour for the MF-Ebro. www.google.de/search?q=tractores+ebro&hl=de&sa=X&rls=com.microsoft:de:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7ADSA_de&biw=1049&bih=763&prmd=ivns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&ei=GVBVTraME834sgbcmeDzDw&ved=0CBwQsAQI know, that some MF Models had been made by Landini, but I don´t think, that the Ebros had been similar to the Landini, even as they have been blue. I know, that Nisan took over the Ebro Truck plant and made small units sold as "Nissan Trade". But Nissan didn´t make any farmtractors and I can´t believe that Kubota as an engine manufacturer will buy engines at Nissan. Kubotas tractor range is going up to 135 hp. With all my modifications I´m stepping in doc Renze´s shoes...wondering that he hasn´t appeaerd here yet and spreaded all his knowledge about Ebro...maybe they are badged Zetors?? antiquetractorsforum.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=10727maybe register yourself in Casemans forum and try to contact David.

Thank you for your responses. BERNARD - David Ebro in Spain is a good friend of mine, he has supplied me with many EBRO & other Spanish tractor photographs. EUROPEAN_A - thank you for your offer of the photograph of the prototype - it will be appreciated for my research. If any one wishes to correspond with me direct, my email is dinas@arepo.com I have lots of photos of EBRO tractors and of British tractors that I can send you. I post photos on British Farming Forum and Farming Forun UK in Britain; vintage & modern tractors at work. EBRO 470 in Britain in 1977 with British made cab
