O.K. now lets just sit back and cogitate awhile, and come up with some ideas!! Why not have it coincide with a major farm show? There are plenty of them all over the world. Or have it in a town of a manufacturer, who's factory we can tour. Once again many different choices. Who's ever country it is scheduled for can do the ground work. We could vote on where we want to go,and when. More ideas? ?

Hey Sir Lee, Sorry ol chap, but you really have to pay much better attention to what is going on around here!! You have not been hanging out with Laapa drinking that slime green beer now have you,and chanting solid....stable....etc,etc.....? X-man I think it was suggested we should post a question about an idea that was raised for a get together of the members of this board. So this is that question!! Any ideas? ?

Hey woodbeef
Your post beat me too it. Anyhow Lee's got another hobby now. He's out testing every tractor available since discovering here there's more than two shades of red:) (I think they're called Good and Bad) I wonder whether the dealers have realised! I think the least we can expect is a detailed report on his findings once the fields turn to lakes. That lime green beer is definitely taking hold because he's said the 8520 had a nicer cab than the S260. I hope you didn't read that post, oops it's here now:)

Come on chaps - bring it one then. I am insulted to say the least that I have been associated in the same sentence as, and I struggle to say it, a DEEREOID. Please God no! Not me! Help.
Your right Woodbeef I have not been paying attention, so I must start. Anyway the Shin-Dig - well obviously the biggest problem is the fact that we are all mostly in different countries. However I would say that the majority would be europeans - so it would have to be somewhere over here.
I am not bothered where it is although I agree some organised trips would be the best idea. From a UK point of view we could easily get to JCB, Deere, CAT, Case and Claas and then there's all the UK smaller manufacturers as well.
Other european countries then I dont know really. Bad points of the UK for you lot is the exchange rate and the good points is that is relatively small and easy to get everywhere.
The other problem is also the seasons and fittind in with work loads.

Lee, I agree with you. AFAIK mostly european members. Does Ryan-Air also have cheap Transatlantic Flights? Saw a flight offered : Düsseldorf - London for 10 Euro one passage. The Idea about meeting to visit a manufaturer sounds good. UK is no problem for me. 3 h driving to calais enter a ferry and we´ve got it.
I will visit Eurotier, Hannover / RAI Amsterdam and maybe SIMA , Paris could also be a possibility to meet. Is somebody on 8th + 9th november at Bogballe factory Danmark? It should be possible for everybody to get 3 free days

Hello Friedhelm,
those three exhibitions are in my schedule too. Haven't been to Eurotier before, visited SIMA once and visited RAI everytime since I was a little boy. Amsterdam RAI would be the most central but SIMA is much bigger! My votes go to SIMA to meet eachother.

Dont go to the Amsterdam RAI by train, it takes 3 extra travel hours than by car when it's busy on the rails !! Last year, we had to wait three hours in total because the trains were all full !! Hey RAI will be o.k. by me...

Hey Triple F,
I was thinking more like the new visitors center at Valtra! I hear that the very lovely Miss Herlevi is the hostess there!!
I think the Royal smithfield is only every two years,on the even ones. Could be wrong on that one though, never been there myself.

Smithfield is every two years. Its happening this year from november the 24th to 27th and I am working there all week. Feel free to come over and see me if your around.
I am going there on the tuesday to look but the rest of the time I will be working.
If you are considering coming over, be aware that the hotel prices for that week around Earls Court (where its held) are quite high. Typically it will cost you £50 for a bed and breafast and then you have entrance to the show and food, tube and bus tickets etc. Your looking at about £100 UK pounds per day.

FFF: That will absolutely never happen: I think the perfect wife would be like a Zetor: A tough rear end, favourable weight distribution, big round headlights on the front and most of all: Low on operating costs... ;D : Well, you havent thought of it that way, eh ??
