Whats about Farm-Trac? Have seen one in Poland on Thursday, looks like a JD but red and yellow, with cab of the 25HP Belarus.

hey Bernhard,
Scoop us a picture if you could, sir? That sounds like one different looking tractor!!
The tractor company Farm-Trac which is now part of the Escorts group, was the Ford licensee for India. Only tractors I've ever seen with the F-T name on them were older series Fords(10,30,etc.....under 60 hp).

Hi Woodbeef,
now I know that Farm-Trac is Long, saw them at the net. There was a picture of it long ago at a polnish website. Maybe I got the adress from Pudding, but I didn't remeber it. I believe it was a czech Traktor, but I'm also not sure in that!

Hey Bernhard,
Yes, for the US Long does market the Farm-Trac brand, but only in the US. Escorts and Long formed a joint venture for these sales.
I've never seen or heard of the Farm-Trac brand being sold anywhere else besides India and the States.

Hi Woodbeef,
I try the search, but I don't find the Tractor, be patient, it maybe takes some time to find it. If tere is a JD-specialist around here, maybe he knew more and can help to find it. There was a side in NZ, lindalizard, I believe, but the Tractor-links there didn't exist no more.

Bernard, Are you sure it wasn't a Farm-Mot that you saw? They are/were based on JD. Here's a picture... freepages.rural.rootsweb.com/~antrev/tracfmot.htm Farm-Mot is a division of Pol-Mot. Pol-Mot has a venture with Escorts of India and sell Escorts tractors in Poland, but I don't believe the FarmTrac is part of that.

Hey Kevanos there are a couple of badge engineer jobs you don't know then:)
Shibora - Ford
Someca - Fiat
Someca - Laverda
Fiat bought French manufacturer Someca, which itself came from Map. Someca was something to do with Simca.1970's Fiats were labled Someca. I don't know the link with Laverda, except Laverda also Italian. I have only seen Someca combines from the 1970's. Hope that helps with the other thread question.

To extend this thread to cars:
I understand fromit that:
Someca = Simca (there is one buried around here) Simca became Talbot under Peugeot Talbot became Seat under Fiat And then Seat was sold to Volkswagen
So this means the car division was also in Fiat hands for some time ??

Hi, kevanos
You're right, it was the Farm-Mot, found the same page like You. I've seen it in the net a time ago, when I try search for a Tarpan-Honker. This is a polnish 4wd, I'd like to own. The Farm-Mot has nothing to do with Farm-Trac I believe. Bernhard, Derichsweiler, Germany

I've never before thought of County and Roadless as being badge engineering due to the four wheel drive addition but if this type is included then we also need:
Muir Hill - Ford Farm tractor Drives - Ford Doe - Ford Four wheel traction - leyland, Massey, Ford Chaside - Ford Matbro - Ford Bray - Nuffied, Leyland
All of these used existing base units to create four wheel drive/front wheel assist tractors under their own name and numbering system. Roadless also did four wheel versions of Leyland and International tractors but retained the original manufacturers name and number system. So definitely not badge engineer in my mind. Anyone got some more?
