It's getting close to that time of the year when one is chosen.
Any thoughts as to which models should be nominated? ;D

I think you know which i mean before i even mention the name...
....And what about the Linder Geotrac ?? But does it really matter?? As always, a Deere or CNH will win most votes.

Hi Renze,
I was kinda leaning towards the 114 too. The Geotrac would be another good selection. Probably right on the Case/Deere.
Say Pudding, kinda disappointed, you didn't list the CVT330. Ha! Dae Dong, a Kioti?

Personally its our challenger 75e as it performed over and above expectations this year. Its actually got enough hp to cope with our cultivator in all conditions.
Ok so back to the question:
Well last week I tried an JD 8520 - even though it could not cope with our cultivator it was a good machine. I used it for about 4 hours and was very impressed. Comfortable, quiet, easy to use although I dont like the console on the right hand side. You seem to have to look down at everything, when your supposed to be looking forward or directly behind you.
I have also used an STX 450 for about 2 hours - awesome machine but not very manoverable.
I have seen the valtra 260 and it was ok but not great.
Tried a JD 6920 s which was ok but not great at all.
Looked at a Case MXM - average
Erm the simple answer is I dont know whats should be the best machine. Nothing really has jumped out, although we all have yet to test the new challengers! I think that the photo's I have seen have probably won it.
I am going for the the NEW 700 and 800 range of challenger tractors.

funny how you say how great the cat challenger is, our farm has owned a 8410T ? and a challenger 75E i think and they disapeared real fast, no one seemed to like them.....sorry.....lol.....horses for courses......we tried one on our auger wagon also, and disliked it because of its inability to turn with it, for some reason, we have a 1999 quadtrac at the mo, and it rocks, one of the sons here has a stx440 on his farm and loves it we have 4 mx270 and like them, we tow 34ft set of disks with one, do all our planting, with our 2x 24row corn planters, and our 16row kinze, we to a 36ft airseeder, and 30ft JD750's, and 1560's with them they are great pullers providing you aren't pulling cultivators at high speeds........there is nothing like an artic for towing cultivators at 8.5mph mx270 is a tractor i rate highly, forget it if it ain't got front duals thou also the MXM is the best thing that ever happened.......now you have a great tractor and awesome service (but that may only be in our area ofcourse) now i sound bias to the red ones again.... kenjar......the DK90 daedong would be a nice machine for me and ofcourse, the cvt330.....sorry kenjar.....i forgot that one laters pudding
