After hearing so much about these tractors, I have actually got a chance of trading one in, but no-one will give me a decent bid, 8950 hi tech 1999, Front Linkage, Front suspension 2066 hrs, is there anybody out there? (it's probably too far away for woodbeef) Cheers Simon

Hey Si,
Not sure who buys the big ones.....It is a tad bit too big for me. If it was 1/2 the hp it would be in the top part of my size range!!
There is one on Mascus with 4800 hrs for just under $50,000 USD.

Simon: We have a '95 6600 Valmet with 16,000 hours. The tractor is well maintained and recently I felt out the market on it. Had it appraised at $50,000 Can. which I thought was exceptional for me - well over 50 % of the original cost new. Actually had a couple serious inquiries, but not selling as it still looks after my needs and not prepared to invest in a replacement at this time. Jim

What do you call a decent bid?

Orange: At this point in time I am not prepared to invest any $ into a replacement as the 6600 is in good shape, doing the job and I feel my chances are strong to get by at least another couple thousand hours without major repair. Jim

Simon,
Its got to be worth at least £20,000 I would of thought.
F Sutton & son of Ansley, warwickshire (no relation to me) may buy it off you as they are Valmet dealers about 6 miles from us. There are a lot of valmet users around here now. I went to our local ploughing match today and there must of been at least 10 there all with different owners. I was quite amazed as before I only knew of 2 around here.
Woodbeef: the new 260 hp valtra was there. It looks good but I thought it was very basic inside. The engine sounded good and it was playing with the 8 furrow lemken plough. All in all a nice tractor for £50,000 UK pounds.

Trade bid now £18,000 (E30,000), customer now told me he thinks it'sworth £28,000 (E46,666), As there are so few about nobody seams to like them, I have spoken to a friend, a Valmet dealer and he values it at £25,000 (E41,666), but doesn't want it. Drove it today in the field, it's simple, but comfortable to drive, no complicated electronics to baffle people, (Our workshop has a CVX in that is baffling them completly, I suppose there is always one, no matter what colour it is!) Cheers Simon

i actually meant how much that S 260 is in Euro.
i hope you find a buyer, but it's a bit out of my budget...
