O.K. now I know that the Deere 2000 series were just badge-engineered Zetors, but I have a few questions about them. What ,and when was the first one? What ,and when was the last one? Which ones were used, and which was which? Take a look at this pic of a 2800,it has the newer cab,so when was it built? www.farmphoto.com/homestead/message.asp?mid=15883

This 2800 is the heaviest green Zetor, a rebadged 9540.
UR1 models:(Not sure) 2000 = 3320/40 2100 = 4320/40 2200 = 5320/40 2300 = 6340/20 2400 = 7320/40
UR3 models: 2700 = 8520/40 2800 = 9520/40
John Deere bought its license in 1993. I dont know when, or if this agreement ended.
By the way: Reading the title of your post made me thinking you meant an Ursus from 70's and easrly 80's: A yellow crystal...

Hey Woodbeef,
I'm not sure what they did across the pond, but that picture (if it is real) is of a Forterra --either 8641,9641,or 10641 as they are labeled in the US.( 82,92,&104 net engine Hp respectively)
To my knowledge,(admittedly sometimes flawed), they did not make this style , at least for US consumption, until two or three years ago.
Also, my understanding is, that the JD contract with Zetor ended in 1998.

Hey Dancce,
That's what I was wondering. It looked to me to be too new of a tractor to be painted green.

that tractor does look alfully new.....actually the cab looks slightly different
the 2300 or 2400 looked like the little tractor renze owns......45 series?.....about 60-70 hp?
ya the 2700 was a 8540 and 2800 was a 9540
the little ones were cabed and no cabed,
anybody out there with a green goldini?
1851?....something?.....our neighbour had one at home

That 2800 has the Zetor built front axle, instead of the Carraro axle used since about 1996. The -6-- series never came with this front axle. It is an 85 or 9540. I cant imagine why Zetor would keep their own old front axle in production just for the Deeres, while the original badged tractors were having the Carraro axle.
I noticed that the cab could be different, but was not sure about this.. I think the front pane of the cab is hanging a little more to the rear than the original cab.
Dancce: I dont know if i know what you mean, but the green Zetors were just sold in south and Latin America, and southern Europe. In N.A, they came in original paint.
Pudding: The 2 series (like mine, 5245) was succeeded in 1992 by the updated 3 series (5245 is 3340) they had better brakes and master cylinders.

I guess I should have looked a little closer. Didn't notice at first glance, but the front axle is not the Carraro used in the current '6' series and the front cab glass appears to be more curved toward the rear. I was mostly looking at the sheet metal on the hood, which is definitely of the newer style, and the somewhat similiar cab style. Also, the dashboard appears to be the older metal style, instead of the newer molded plastic. Must be a hybrid, somewhere between the '5' and '6' series. Dancce

Dancce, You may be on the right track. Zetor may have painted up a prototype in Deere colors. Nice tractor, even nicer in Zetor clothing.

Yeah, Zetor painted the prototype in stealth colours !!
Maybe this is an Italian cab, like the 5000 series had.

machinefinder says it has 7100 hrs. Maybe they should spill some more green paint on their tractors at Brno, dont they?

Looks like it might have been repainted. You won't find many 1995 models that look as good.
What is that slogan? Oh, yeah. Nothing runs like a Deere, or in this case, Farm Better with Zetor. ;D

Our old Deere 500 or 510 ran very nice, but didn't pull. My dad wore out the back end with the manure tank.
So i guess you could say the Deere we had, was crippled.
