Just read in the new issue of FIN that the new 7020 series are made in Mannheim. This might be the reason the 77 and 7810 models weren't upgraded to the 20 series.

Well it seems logical, because 7020 are exactly equal to the 6020 6 cilinder sold in UE. Its normal this transport only one thing the final tractor, and no all the pieces, not sure about motors (are they build in Germany i suppose).
Look at specs Jose, i think (refering to Autopower) that is the same than IVT for USA. By the way is ZF like Deutz TTV.

Hey X-man,
The Deere engines are made in Saran France for the Euro market.
Yes,the Deutz TTV and Deere 6010/6020 both use the ZF EECOMII shiftless box.

I knew that the Deere engines were built in Saran, but how did they get on that spot? I suppose there wasn't a former Lanz plant in Saran. Have they taken over another brand next to Lanz?

Is this factory the same Arc-les-Gray? Seems that in this they make front loaders. JD has 8 factory in EU: 4 in Gemany 2 in France 1 in Spain 1 in Holland All of them come with Lanz? About Saran factory it was opened in 1965 more information: (sorry it is in french, no problem with it i suppose) www.deere.com/fr_FR/about_us/general/saran/index.html

The factory in Holland is recently purchased, they manufacture sprayers there. I think it was former Douven.

JD Locations in France/Netherlands/Germany:
Mannheim (GER) - Tractors, came with lanz
Zweibruecken (GER) - Combines, seeders, Telehandlers, came also with lanz
Bruchsal (GER) - Cabs for tractors/foragers/Combines and EPDC (EuropeanPartsDistributionCenter), built by deere in the 80s
Stadtlohn (GER) - corn heads for foragers and since 2001 also for combines (the first combine corn head with what you dont have to follow the rows - has also no chains to put the cobs into the auger, was shown on the agritechnica 2001) - deere bought the "Kemper Maschinenfabrik" in the late 90s (kemper makes also: self loading silage wagons, silage trailers, bale wagons, manure spreaders... all products from Stadtlohn are sold in europe under the Kemper label until today, haervester heads for jd dealers have the jd colours but the kemper name on it)
Gummersbach (GER) - "SABO" Maschinenfabrik, push-type lawn mowers (sold in europe under the "sabo" label) JD bought the "sabo"-company in the 80s
Enschede (NL) - "Roberine" self propelled comercial lawn mowers, jd bought the "roberine" company in late 80s or early 90s
Horst (NL) - Sprayers, JD bought the "Douven" company in the late 90s and renamed the sprayers soon to JD
Saran (FR) - Engines for jd equipment manufactured in europe and for other companies.

The 7020 is build in Waterloo, but it is identical to the 6 cylinder 6020's build in Mannheim. Engines, cabs, and some transmissions are made in the US, but most compenents are shipped from Europe.
Expect it to start to differ from teh 6020 as the Waterloo folks tweak the design for North America. This unit is designed for European markets and will have some limitations in the US.
