It's built by Mancini, isn't it?

I've been wondering if I'd ever see that again. There also was a large two wheel drive type with front wheel drive and Cummins engine which was basically the same looking tractor with similar wide grill, hood, and cab which was close in design to the four wheel drive. Does anyone know if another company was or is producing some of the old Argentine MF tractors in addition to the Brazilian tractors bought in by Agco? I think I can find a site that shows some of them though not the big tractor similar to the four wheel drive.

Never seen those before, pictures are very small, but the cab looks alike the cabs MF 3000 series fom Beuavais. AGCO bought MF in 1996 from Varity. So AGCO handled it already in 1999.
Just for understanding: I thought 2wd and 4wd are standard tractors. But if I got it right you are talking about 4wd if it goes about tractors like this MF.

Although Agco bough MF in late 94 or early 95, it did not include units sold when Massey was in big financial trouble in the 80's. Argentina MF was one of those units sold and later Brazil unit was sold to Maxion though they may have still had a share of the Perkins unit which they retained 50 percent of at one time. Agco repurchased the Argentine unit shortly after purchasing the Deutz unit in Argentina in the late 90's and already had repurchased Maxion's MF unit in Brazil. They were supposed to sell some Argentine built Masseys and they also imported the Brazilian Masseys some or all of which are supposed to be heavily built. I don't know if the Argentine Masseys are still built. The company did go bankrupt though they may have another owner building tractors and spare parts yet. The bigger tractors are not shown on the site I'll post. Check out www.tracto-part,com/ and scroll down to 'Concessionaria oficial MF' and click on the picture. Then in the top left corner pic click on "Linea Tractores de Origin Nacional" for pics of late MF's built in Argentina (Though the last two large tractors are not shown) By four wheel drives, I'm referring to Steiger same size wheel type tractors ( American terminology) Until the 80's, few row crop tractors were sold in the US with front wheel assist since they did not work well in rows especially when turning sharp for cultivating. In special areas like potato growing areas with wide rows and heavy 4 row potato combines to be pulled IH, Oliver were the main companies with them in the early 60's. Minneapolis Moline had them on early 60's wheatland tractors and JD had hydraulic front wheel drive in the late 60's. When John Deere came out with row crop tractors in 83 with smaller front wheel drive the trend became hot stuff in the industry here when it was well established in Europe already.

By 4WD, I/we mean the big, often articulated tractors with the tires the same size front and back. The others are called MFWD (Mechanical Front Wheel Drive) in the USA.

Massey Ferguson Argentina was a licensee of MF. Similar to the arangements with TAFE in India, Millat in Pakistan, Uzel in Turkey, etc... MF Argentina went bancrupt in 1997. The production facilities were sold off to some other company. The MF license and distribution rights were acquired by AGCO in May 1998, according to their 2002 Annual Report. AGCO imports tractors from Brazil and other parts of the world to Argentina, partially due to the poor economy there. AGCO purchased Iochpe-Maxion S.A.'s ag and industrial equipment business in June 1996. Based in Brazil, Iochpe-Maxion was MF's licensee in Brazil. AGCO now owned the manufacturing facilities and distribution rights for Massey Ferguson tractors and combines, and also the Maxion & Massey Ferguson industrial loader-backhoes. They also build both tractors and combines under the Agco-Allis name in Brazil. The old MF Argentina tractors no longer seem to be available. They are not on the MF Argentina website www.masseyferguson.com.ar/AGCO bought Deutz Argentina in Dec. 1996. In Feb. 1999, AGCO sold the mfg. operations in Haedo, Argentina and consolidated the assembly of tractors into Brazil. (Again, per the 2002 Annual report). The tractors are sold under the name Agco-Allis, although you can find some websites with Deutz-Allis, Deutz-Fahr and just Deutz with the same tractors for Argentina. www.agcoallis.com.ar/ (site doesn't seem to be working)
