I've seen a couple of pictures of JL tractors, the 530 and 700, but I don't know anything about them. Who makes them, where, when, still made, available where, pictures?  Thanks! |

I think they where build on Fiat 450R and Fiat 600 in late 70's and early 80's. Romania?

Try this link: www.maskinbladet.dk Look under used machinery and you will find a 530 and two 700. I'm not sure, but I think that JL is related to Universal tractor. The 700 looks a lot like the Universal U-1010-DT. You can see the 1010 at www.universaltractorcanada.com |

Hello.Here in Finland have been in marketing three different models of Universal.Information is taken from my own member,i'm not response if i remember some detail little bit.....
First 1975-1979 FIAT 450 which were manufactured in Romania by Universal.This have 3-cyl,54 hp engine and if i remeber gearbox was 12+3,it was modified from original with creeper.
Then other dealer had later two Universal models in market 530 DT and 640 DT.
530 is 3-cyl,and about 55 hp,640 4-cyl about 64 hp.
Gearboxes 12+3.I think bigger model is direct copie from FIAT 640,difference are gearbox,originally 8+2 and also cabin.In finland 530 was wery similar as 640 but the engine were smaller.
I tried find some leatlet but fithout any result.....
