I took a bunch of photos on vacation last week, had some iPhone issues last week and ended up having to restore from a back-up. I did not save my photos to iPhoto, so they are not on my Mac - they are still on my iPhone, if anywhere. Anyway, all of the photos I'd taken since my last back-up are gone, but I'm wondering if they are still anywhere on my phone, i don't what to do, so i posted my question in some forums, somebody gave me two methods.
Method 1: Restore Photos from Inside of iTunes iPhone Backups
The premise of this method is your iPhone can run normally. In general, photos in the camera roll are saved inside of iTunes iPhone Backups. So long as restoring backup, you can get images back.
Right click the iPhone under "Devices" in iTunes. Click "Restore from Backup…" You will see device backup list in the box with data stamp on the right side. Choose what you want to restore appropriately.
Method 2: Recover iPhone Photos with iTunes Data Recovery for Mac Software
Step 1: Download and install iTunes Data Recovery for Mac in your Mac, launch the program and you can see a list of all the iOS devices that are synced with your Mac's current copy of iTunes. Select the device and click "Start Scan".
Steps2: Preview iTunes Photos and Recover iTunes Mac
Here you can see all backup photos are readable and list in the window. They are listed as thumbnails. After previewing them, click "Recover" and save the recovered images to your Mac.
I have tried two methods, i found the second method help me to finish itunes backup mac very quickly, if you also meet this trouble, i think these methods can help you well.
