www.zetor.de/brno%20gold1.htmThe 11741 six cylinder seems also been officially introduced. What's that little one in the left-hand background?? Is it the new narrow vineyard and orchard model with updated Super look?? It also shows up behind the Forterra with duals, lower right picture. According to the length of the nose, compared to the 5243, it seems to be a four cylinder. The more i look at the new Forterra, the more i like them. They will be sold in the Netherlands from august, a month earlier than expected. The first 11441 110 hp four cylinder is formally sold, according to an anonymous visitor of my page. Zetor seems to want to take their leading technology position back, as they had in the fourties to seventies.

Renze, the little one might be the 5243's replacement. It does look like an narrow model. The view of the dualed Forterra, looks sort of like the Valtra S from that angle. Sorry Woodbeef! Renze are we talking tractor of the year 2003?

Yes, i concidered posting this message on the 'best looking tractor' topic, but it doesn't look best, but superior.. KIDDING No, i was thinking the V&O models were the most important news.

Hey Kenjar,
Yep,it does have a resembalance to a certain extent does it not? Now if Zetor only offered more metallic colors!
Hey Renze,
What ever happened to the ugly army green ones?

Woodbeef. I was thinking YOU was the one who posted the message "JD drops Zetor, goes with Belarus" And i dont know any confirmed details. (Henry Kissinger said: "make love, not war!" so army green is bad, love-red is good...?)
AND: This Forterra, (the prototype model 2001), looks indeed like the Valtra S-Series. When was the S-series introduced?? Before or after 2001???

Renze,Renze,Renze........Yes it was I that posted the Deere Belarus connection. Still to this day I'm hearing dribs and drabs from here and there, but no pictures yet!
Maybe it will be the Deere/Hattat line that fills the void instead.
The Valtra S series has been around in the public view since 1999 at least. So I guess that the new Forterra is a knock-off,eh?

Maybe. But the Forterra sideview looks better. Hey, i forgot to ask: What is Hattat?? the Mexican plant where the other 75% of the green painted Zetors were built under license?? I never saw information on a Deere website, i just have that oicture and press release from www.billstractor.com since bill doesn't use them anymore. Hey, the press release mentions 40 to 85 hp line. Is that PTO hp?? In that case, the 2700 and 2800 must be downspeced UR3 with 8/2 tranny.

Hey Renze,
Hattat is in Turkey.
Deere never publicly admitted to the green Zetors, and still keep it hush hush till today!
Over here the 9540 only puts out 85 or 86 pto hp even with the top-of-the-line tranny.

Hey Renze, Do they make anything besides bend-in-the-middle little ones? Those would not sell all that good over here to the weekend-warrior crowd!! Zetor needs to look to Asia for compacts,if they really want to go full line in North America. The CUT market is where the big sales are. Just take a look at www.tractorbynet.com

Why does Deere sell those tiny tractors with loaders and backhoes?? I think they will also bend in the middle, but horizontal instead of vertical.(then it wasn't a factory designed bend) when you attach a decent loader on one of those.. But as you can see on the 5213 pic, the narrow models definately needed an update. This is another Projestov tractor, the front axle hubs could be the same as under the 5245. www.agrosort.cz/Cze/foto.asp?co=118Will this do for the weekend warriors?? it still looks odd, doesn't it? i am sure we wont see anything asian under Zetor badge.

Renze, Woodbeef is right the small articulated tractors have not sold well on this side of the pond. Woodbeef is talking that Deere may go with Hattat for certain markets. Here is a Deere news article about there joint venture. www.deere.com/deerecom/_Newsroom/turkey.htmIf Zetor wants to enter the lower hp market they may go to HMT for a supplier. HMT builds some 25 and 35 hp models. www.hmti.com/tractors.htmlStill be sort of in the family.

Now that one looks better. But they need to offer it from about 15 up to 45 hp in that small framed size of tractor to be competitive.
A factory cab is one thing they lack over here though. So that might be a good selling point in some areas if air conditioning could be optional.

So, if Zetor sells the MT8-150 with, lets say, the new V&O narrow cab, and some new Forterra-like sheets, that will do?? (with some serious ergonomics update ofcourse..)
I looked for ya:
MT8-050, succeeded by MT8-150 14.5 Kw 2cylinder Diesel (probably Lombardini, like the bend-in-the-middle TZ-4-K14)
MT8-065 20 kw gasoline (Otto) engine 2wd. The same as the MT8-150, but more powerful engine and no FWD.
If they sling those engines out (a two cylinder, or a gasoline engine wont be competitive) and install a Zetor 3 cylinder, eventually a new developed one, that will be a nice thing. (i dont think a 5201 engine will fit in that body)
For these tractors, all kinds of machinery is available. Mowers, mulchers, 2 furrow 2 side ploughs, snowblades, power harrows and front loaders.
I agree, they look like a hobby home made tractor, but with some good engineering, the Zetor narrow cab, and new sheets, it might become something nice.

Yes Renze,
Hypothetically it could work. But much work and styling, along with more power, tranny options, ergonomics etc... would be needed.
But it could be doable I guess.
At what price though does it become unprofitable to build your own, instead of badge-engineering an Asian offering?
The more I look at that smaller O&V type 1/2 pic of a tractor, the more I'm thinking Carraro as in the Renaults.
