Thought you might be curious to see what this was all about!
Someone said, think it was Laapa, that it would be a good thing if we could share what we find on other sites. Well, on the profi forum I didn´t find anything interesting, but on the profi newspage I found this:
The german tractormarket jan-may 2002: Fendt 2.501 units 21.5% JD 2.297 19.8% CaseIH/Steyr 1.598 13.8% Deutz-Fahr 949 8.2% New Holland 720 6.2% Massey 534 4.6% Same 353 3.0% Valmet 284 2.4% Minsk (Belarus) 247 2.1% Iseki 185 1.6% Kubota 179 1.5% Ladini 173 1.5% Mercedes 154 1.3% Renault 154 1.3% Carraro 84 0.7% Holder 74 0.6% Lindner 72 0.6% McCormick 54 0.5% Hako 46 0.4% Bühler 45 0.4% Zetor 34 0.3% Others 883 7.6%
Man, those germans really know what tractors to buy don´t they (sorry Renze!)

Your self-esteem needed that for the time i catched ya on the Vario discussion ..Just kidding... By the way, you are Scandinavian. What about Scandinavian tractor sales? Zetor used to sell good in Scandinavia, as they did since the fifties.

OK Renze, you´re one up! I´ll try to remember to post the salesfigures for Sweden next time they come up. We have one Ag-Magazine, ATL, that usually presents the statistics every month. About the Vario in trucks eh...? Well I don´t know why. Probably its because it isn´t suited for speeds higher than 70 - 80 km /h. To go higher I guess you´d have to reconstruct or something. Maybe a third speedrange. I still think however that efficiency would be allright though. Oh yeah, when I post the salesfigures from Sweden you´ll have a good laugh. Fendt is struggeling here to reach the 1.0%-level. Still, we´re having a lot of fun though! And, besides, MF is doing very good here!

Hey HPP, Looks like the Fendt/Deere battle continues. I noticed Buhler had .04% in sales. I did not know they even marketed tractors there. What about Deutz? Weren't they market leaders in Germany years back?

Yes, Deutz was a very long time No. 1 in Germany. But thoses Times are over and IMO the chance for Deutz to get back to No. 1 is very bad. I live in a former very strong region for Deutz and more and more Farmers decided to buy something else the last ten years.

I just received the latest I&T magazine. There are total sales figures for the 2001 year listed.
Renze, Here are some Scandinavian figures.
Finland Valtra 2441 New Holland 875 Deere 457 Massey 380 CIH 262 Same 187 Deutz 83 Lamborghini 39 Zetor 36 Fendt 21 Others 157
Norway
Deere 688 NH 562 Massey 536 Valtra 419 CIH 231 Same 132 Fendt 88 Deutz 46 Others 177
Sweden Valtra 1001 NH 678 Deere 611 Massey 591 CIH 440 Lamborghini 78 Zetor 73 Belarus 61 Deutz 61 Fendt 44 Same 34 Steyr 25 Ursus 14 Hurlimann 7 Landini 5 Others 31
It appears the Italian market is a hard one to crack. The top 5 makes are native to that country. 1 NH,2 SDF, 3 Landini, 4 Carraro, and 5 Goldoni.
If anyone wants figures for the other countries listed, let me know and I will post them.

Hey Kenjar is all that informationa avaible in any website? There is informationa about France, UK, Ireland? And USA? In other hand, the sales of the models, not makes, is avaible in the Germany market at any website? Information about sales of models i think is more important than makes, you can see if one make sells better their big tractors or their orchards. Is possible to make a section in Agmachinery about sales in the different countries?

Hello Xavier, I have not found any website that gives this information. Profi and I&T publish this in their magazines occasionally. France, Spain and a few others were in I&T.The UK was not. The US does not release these figures, not according to make anyway. At least I am not aware of any. I&T does have a monthly sales figures for certain hp classes.ie. 0-40 hp,40-99 etc. In the US tractors of 40hp or less sell the most. Greetings, kenjar

I posted the sales figures for Sweden a while back. I was suprised to see 45 Buhlers were sold in Germany last year. Would those be Vesatiles or Genesis? Also the 154 Mercedeses, are the Unimog by chance?
Very interesting topic.

Hey Xavier, there is such info available, for the german market. Somewhere on the profi-site. Can´t really remember exactly where but if you go to their newspage you´ll find the link schlepper bundesliga or something. There you can find salesfigures from back to -91. As I have the figures for 2001 here they are (in a cut version) Fendt 309 - 827 JD 6910 - 778 Fendt 716 Vario - 705 JD 6310 - 693 JD 6610 - 397 JD 6810 - 394 Fendt 714 Vario - 390 JD 7810 - 349 Fendt 712 Vario - 339 JD 6210 - 290 Fendt 411 Vario - 289 JD 6110 - 278 Fendt 926 Vario - 244 CaseIH CS 86 - 239 JD 4100 - 234 CaseIH CS 94 - 230 NH TS 115 - 229 JD 6410 - 223 Case IH CVX 170 - 185 Deutz AP 85 - 183
OK, so it wasn´t very much of a cut version. Got carried away there!
A little bit more : 200+ Hp-sales: Fendt - 486 JD - 269 CaseIH/Steyr - 207 Mercedes - 116 Massey Ferguson - 51
Hey Kenjar, your question posted to me is, as you can see, already answered (about the Deutz-sales I mean).
And, Renze, my friend! Yes, I guess you could say I should be doing better! And yes, I´m honest! In my line of work you have to!

Hey Laapa, I see you were posting questions while i was in here hammering salesfigures away. Those Bühlers? Well, I´m not sure but I assume they must be Genesis. The Mecedes are definately Unimogs. BTW are you done peaing? (funny what you can do with words and letters isn´t it?) Saw part of the crew the other day going home, at Reimer´s, were you there?
