At farmphoto.com, they have some pictures from the world seeding record. They have a few good shots of the Valtra S series tractor. Seriously, they are a good looking tractor.
I have seen pictures of them, but thats company literature, and thats always looking nice. But to see them in the field, with a more/less unedited photo, really shows them off.
They are a good looking, and unique looking machine.
That first photo is a real interesting one

Hey Bosman,
Yes I agree,at first the pictures were not really all that flattering. What we are starting to see recently are better. I'm still wondering when we are going to see them in Valtra's 2nd most requested color though!!
I also believe that this might actually be a worthwhile record this time. I wonder what the crop will look like?

Hey Jon, Really nice looking machine. Have you looked at the Valtra website? I like the the shot of the S with duals all around. Only have seen photos with them in red, looking forward to seeing them in other colors.

Hey Kenjar,
If you look in the new S series brochure there is a shot from the interior of one painted Claas Green. But the only full shots so far have been of Metallic Valtra Red ones.

Hi Woodbeef,
I haven't seen the S series brochure yet, closest dealer to me is 100+ miles away. Hope to do a little traveling soon.
Have any arrived to our shores yet?

There was a Claas-green painted S-series at the Agritechnica show last year. Looked pretty good. The tractor was crowded with people so I never got a very good look at it. To be honest Valtra-SS-tractorpuller ms. Herlevi was in the same display and might have caught a fair bit of my attention. When I first saw the look of S-series in 1999 I thought to myself "This is gonna take some getting used to". I'm still working on it...

Valtra had two S series tractors on display at the Grassland 2002 event held last week in England. One of them was demonstrated with a triple Claas mower working in reverse drive. I have a photo of this, a smaller Valtra with 1 front and 2 rear mowers and a Claas self propelled with triple mower all working at once I agree they look great and very well built. When Valtra launch a 150hp tractor this good I'll be at the front of the queue. Or maybe second, behind Woodbeef

Hey Richard,
I heard that the S was going to be there with some nice Claas stuff hooked up to it.
You can have the 150 hp one!! All I'll need is one around 85 or so pto hp myself.

Sorry Laapa,
In Dutch, (oh ooh, there he goes again) a whale is named walvis. litterally translated, it is shore fish. In earlier days, you wouldn't see a whale, they only knew of their existence when one washed upon the shore.
But that was before the era of our brave sea captains, Willem Barentz, Abel Tasman, Michiel de Ruyter.
Did you know they are building a replica of "De Zeven Provincien", the battleship of Michiel de Ruyter?? (this is not agricultural, but interesting)

Interesting story, whales on beaches.
Kind of like Zetors I suppose, nobody ever sees anyone buy them or use them. You only know of their existence when they show up in junkyards...
(KIDDING!!!)
What was the original jubject again? Oh yeah, the S-series. They look good, so does old ships.

Some people say all Zetors are junk.. They forget that the older Zetor tractors are all still running !
I have quite some 3511's running around here. They sound wonderful, pull better and last longer than an MF 35. They might change gears a little bit less easy than the legendary smooth MF 35, but at least they have enough gears...
Hey the local Valtra dealer had a Volvo T700 turbo on his yard this morning... They are just like the whale in the Netherlands.. No one sees them here.
What kind of model is that T700 turbo?? Did the BM 470 had 75 hp?? what building years??
