Hey Renze, The Eicher tractors from India still use the air-cooled engines with seperate fans for each cylinder. That is really unique. I had my first look at an Eicher the other day, I think it was a model 364. It looked like a well built machine. The new 6100 model is based on the Valmet tractor. I beleive Woodbeef said it is the former 365 model.

Yes, Eicher has a name to keep high.
The Indian plant is an Eicher-Valtra co-operation. Does the 6100 have an Eicher engine, or Sisu ??

The 6100 has a SISU engine. Eicher and Valtra signed a licensce agreement in 1997 for the model 365 and the 320D engine. The other tractors are based on there old license with Eicher of Germany. Eicher also has licenses with Mitsubishi Canter for trucks and Royal Enfield for motorcycles.

Woodbeef has posted this link on some other boards. I will post it here. www.valtrausa.comLooks like the S has made it to our shores, at least it appears so on the USA site. I think the real models aren't going to be here till 2003.
