Interesting posting on two of the US boards. Seems a guy in Sweden was looking to buy two new tractors in the 130-170 hp range. He said that Deere was $30,0000 US more than Valtra,NH,CIH,MF.
Now over here Deere for some reason(probably kept high by the dealers)do sell for a premium used over the others, but new are not that much more expensive.
If you bought a Deere in Europe for $30,000 USD more than the others, would it be worth that much more than the rest in say 10 years?
Mascus, and Traktorpool do not seem to substantiate this so-called Deere price superiority all that much.

Think you might find this interesting if you can work out the language. Go to: www.kts.nuklick at "K.T.S. Prismall" at the left of the screen fill in your name in the area marked Namn: and your e-mail in the area marked Din e-mail: then click "Skicka detta" (send this) then click "BegPrisMall i Excell" Your computer will now download an Excel-file. It is a list of used tractors sold in Sweden. An approx. price is given in 1000 SEK (swedish currency). At the current time 10.34 SEK = 1 US$ or 9.21 SEK = 1 Euro. List includes Make, model, year, hp. Example: JD 7800, 1994, 170 hp = 345 000 SEK = 33365 US$. Hope it works. If so how do our prices compare. The list is based on statistics and seems pretty accurate to me.

That's would be very low price for over here. More like $50,000-60,000 USD would probably be the norm.
Just as I thought though, the high cost of admission is not maintained later on down the road.
Thanks for the link. Man you must have more confidence in my computer skills than me,though!!

The prizes of JD at second hand are too higher.
Some examples of Machinery Finder (JD website)
3150 4RM 9464h HiLo 22237 euro !!!! 3350 2RM 1988 14218h HiLo 15000 euro 3350 4RM 1988 8439h HiLo 19835 euro 3650 4RM 1990 14225h HiLo 18102 euro !!!!! 6300 4RM 1993 4689h PQ 24000 euro 6400 4RM 1993 5300h PQ 27500 euro !!!! 6600 4RM 1994 4700h PQ 28000 euro
They are quite expensive for what they are. Are internet prizes, not the real prizes? If it is this the website is unnecessary.

Xavier,
They are some serious prices. Nobody in the UK would pay £13,000 + for a JD 3150 with 9,464 hours on it.
That tractor would not even make £5,000 (8,000 euro). It needs a new engine.
The 6600 with 4700 hours on it over here would make about £8,000 (13,000 euro).

Xavier has an interesting question here. "Are these serious prices?". I think you must regard the prices in for example mascus as "required" prices, where the trading company have to consider that also a trade-in might show up that the customer wants higher priced than its real value. With these prices you should expect at least some discount. If you can handle the site that Laapa brought up here, www.kts.nu , (just follow Laapa´s instructions), in most places you will find that the prices in KTS are lower than in mascus. Another interesting side of the prices in KTS is the pricing of used John Deeres. Do compare some of the JD:s to tractors of other brands, same age, same hours. Then please note that KTS is a Swedish John Deere dealer!

I know it is not perfect , but I still think it might give you some overall idea. Actually I did not realize KTS was in fact a JD dealer. Should have pointed that out. My bad.

Hey Laapa, No offence! You shouldn´t take that as critics. The thing I really wanted to point out is that KTS are JD-dealers but still they price used JD:s lower than most of the other brands! That´s what I found interesting! I also think that site is one of the best and we do use it a lot for guidance.
