Are there more of these nice concepts??http://www.farmphoto.com/homestead/message.asp?dsply=all&mid=5758
I like this one much better than the new X110 articultated with frontloader, and too small front wheels.
i think this was quite easy to make with the Valmet concept, no transmission changes were necesary, only the pivot between tranny and the fuel tank/frame had to be welded within.

I like that concept. Its like a 4wd Steiger type tractor, with twin trac. Its unlike the New Holland Bi-directionals, where the cab is in the rear section.
It seems like it is an older concept. I wish they'd revisit it

Hey Renze,
I assume you're talking about the Valmet H800. It was developed by two brothers in Finland who also built remote control tractors, I think their name is Kone. A couple of years ago there was an article about them in Trekker & Werktuig. I have to disappoint you but it doesn't have a mechanical gearbox but a hydraulic. I think this concept would be ideal with turboclutch and partial range powershift just as in the Valtra X series. The extra you have to pay for a X compared to a rigid frame is a bit too much in my opinion.
Greetings, New Hollander

Hey New Hollander and Renze,
The H-800 was an articulated tractor experimental platform. Only about 30 of them were built between 1987-1989. They were very ineffiecent do to the type of drive(hydraulic wheel motors). They are good looking though all the same.
As for the X it is a much more usable bi-di concept. Just take a look at the articulation joint on one!!

Ahh. Hydraulic drive.. you may keep it, then.
Why didn't they made it as i described my thought on the first post?? There's just one disadavantage on that construction, the twinshift or deltashift cannot be used, since it is bolted onto the front of the transmission case, so that it makes the pivot turning point about a feet further forward.
About the X: i just dont like the concept. Test reports say that one rear wheel sometimes floats above the ground when haystacking in fully articulated position.

Some comments of VALMET H800. As there is said transmission was totally hydraulic,as i remember this tractor was equipped with 3-speed motors located wheel centers.Manufacturer of those motors is Poclain(hopefully right).Motor was VALMET 4-cyl engine,105 HP.Hydraulic pumps installed directly to motor using only some kind of gear.Idea was maybe good, but main problems were price, unsufficient transmission and also problems with reliability.Valtra HT transmission is created about 15 years after H800. VALMET had earlier many all kind of developing projects like 6-wheel tractor 1502,H800,compress turbo Tractor 1203 but they are gone.... Now Valtra is good product...
