Who manufactured the 1st mass produced ag-tractor with a hi-visibility type of hood? The ones I can think of are the Deutz Agroxtra,M/F 3060,Landinni 80 series View-Master. I'm sure there are more. Was Deutz first? it would make sense if they were with no radiator to relocate. www.grazelandfarm.com

As far as I know Deutz-Fahr Agrartechnik was the company that introduced the sloping bonnet concept when the AgroXtra Series were launched in 1990. Massey Ferguson introduced the 3065 High Visibility model in 1992. Then Landini appeared with the Viewmaster. But if we take a look at the past, the International Junior tractor mounted a sloping bonnet in 1917!!

Then again IH did introduce the 2+2 concept. I´d say that cancells the high visibility sloping bonnet tractor out.

I know this is an anticue topic but I just went through some of the older ones that I hadn´t checked before. If I remember correctly it all started in Norway in the mid- to late -80:s. Either the norwegian importer of Deutz or a lokal dealer started to rebuild Deutztractors thus introducing the sloping bonnet. After a while Deutz Cologne saw it, tested it and apparently liked what they saw.

There was a story in a Dutch paper some years ago.
A Norwegian or Swedish farmer was quite frustrated by the nose of his Deutz during front loader work. He cut it off, and his neighbor, who was a steel sheet worker, helped him making it back on the tractor, but now sloping.
With his next new purchased tractor, he ordered his dealer to cut the nose. The dealer saw business in it, and offered it as an option on the tractors. When the dealer wanted to go to the German machinery fair, he was not allowed to by Deutz AG. Deutz went to the show with a factory modified nose.
I'll see where that paper is. I'll correct this info if needed.
