Havent they sold the whole bunch of former Mengele products to Landini, what sells them inder the Laverda brand?? The self-loading hay wagon is sold to an other company, and the pick-ups are alsu used under Veenhuis Combi 2000 wagons. (i have welded on them, i work for their sub-contractor)

They did have to sell a lot of products to Argo, the holding firm of Landini. But that only included tractors, combines and balers. The forage harvester still is a Case-IH thing. But i wonder if they did sell some of them during the last three years. I think production of the old Mengele forage harvester will stop and noone will ever hear of it again.

So what's wrong with Mengele then? Seen quite a few of them and now onone is buying anymore? Are they not being sold or just not being bought? How about the non-selfpropelled forageharvesters from Mengele?

I dont think there is technically seen anything wrong. They are just a bit noisey, because of the Benz engine, and the blowpipe seems to like rusting. Thats what they say at my brother's work, they have a Mengele there.
Perhaps the market for forage harvesters is too small. Parts distribution for a small brand might be the bottleneck for a small brand like Mengele.

I was under the impression that Mengle was once part of Krone. Here in the states we had a company called KMW. They distributed the lines Krone, Mengle and Niemeyer. Was this just for distribution or were they under the same ownership?

Kenjar,
It's a dealership. In Europe those companies have nothing to do with eachother.

Mengele is still up and running making trailed harvesters they have sold at least thirty in the UK this season but the recievers are to be called in soon again. But this has happened a couple of times and they always bounced back.
