What is used in your areas to handle the solids in liquid manure? Are special machines used to seperate it out? Or is it done in other ways?

i guess you pointed that to the western Europeans. (the Dutch in particular) Well, we have some manufacturers here. On this (Belgian) site, you will se a nice picture of an Italian Barigelli machine. www.vcm-mestverwerking.be/barigelli.htm90% of them are used in Brabant, the province that has the most hogs per hectare. New is a straw filter. It is invented by a guy 20 km away from me. The manure flows over a sloping straw bed, the straw holds the solid, and the water flows away.

Solids in liquid manure? Have one tractor power a propeller to mix it then run it all in a slurrytank. Am I not understanding the problem correctly?

Hey Laapa,
We were talking about separators. transporting water costs more than transport of solids in the manure and 95% of the nutrients in it.
