Can those (US buildt) sprayers you sometimes see in RowCrop situations (RoGator, JD 4700 etc) be fitted with wide tyres for pre-seeding spraying with low groundpressure? They don't appear strong enough and I have never seen it.

Laapa - go to www.agchemeurope.com, click on products; chemicals; ro-gator with Chafer sprayer pack and you will see the answer is 'yes', at least for this Dutch built version of the RoGator. I think there are maybe six such machines working in the UK as self-propelled sprayers, some also with spreader bodies.

I have seen a few that put 20.8 tires on, but thats as wide as it goes. Some guys put duals on. www.talltires.com shows some pictures. I don't think that the hubs are strong enough for that wide of a tire, or wider, either. We use Terra-Gators with liquid systems if we need to pre-emerge 28% UAN. But its not done that often as urea is cheaper, and 28% is usually applied as a sidedress, where lower rates are used
