Does anyone have a Fendt Farmer 400 series tractor? If so what do you think of it? I checked one out a few weeks ago, along with a 700. I liked the feel of the 400 better than the 700 (just sitting in them at the T.O. show) I did not like the flimsy plastic armrest controls of the 700. The overall feel of the 700 series interior seemed kinda tacky to me compared to the 400 series. I also liked the view better from the 400.

TS 90 suitable? I think his 8970 is barely suitable. Those 30ft machines take a lot of power.

WOW! I had no Idea Claas made a 30m swather!!!
Seriously, I belive you mean a 30 ft/9 m. In that case you still need the biggest tractor available, a Dopplstadt grizzly (320 hp) would be nice.
If you mean a 3 meter machine (perhaps more likely) a 90 hp machine should be quite enough.

Actually, looking through a Valtra book this morning - stopped at the Western Ontario show and "went to town" - I saw a Valtra Twin Trac pushing a Claas 3000. I am going to assume its either a 8750 or 8950 Sigma, but thats at 190hp. I seriously wonder what the PTO requirements are

I think you are mistaking 2 machines with each other: The Claas Liner 3000 rake and the Kemper Champion 3000 forage harvester. On flat grounds I think the TS90 can easily pull the rake. The Kemper requires over 150hp. I don't know why that is because a Vicon MH180 (also 4 corn rows) only requires 90 hp with the same capacity.

Omigod, you might be right. I was thinking of the Claas disc mower. Isn't that the 3000 model as well???
So many different products, so little time

Web have just bought a 412 fendt as a yard tractor and for hedge cutting as well as spraying, We had a 711 fentd 6 cyclinder 115 hp tractor and it was dead in the water whenit came to performance, Fendt Uk and Ireland would perfer not to seel the 711. We also have 2 716s 916 and 926 I would agree that the 700 range is not as nice as the other ranges. My intention is to trade the 2 716s for another 916 and an EVO tractor early next year.
