I have read in an interview to the director of the group Same Deutz Fahr that the mark Deutz left of manufacturing their harvesting products (harvester,...) He also spoke of the interest shown by Claas for the purchase of the mark Deutz, but it seems strange that coincides with the ceasing of the harvesters production. In my country even they sold reasonably well. Is this possible? Are there other options? Valmet, Renault (too much JD), Mc Cormick, Fendt? Same i Claas will sell in the same concession in Italy, it can repeat in the rest of Europe?

I read that article as well and I thought Mr. Carozza was talking about forage equipment...but I have just read that paragraph again and I think you could be right. That would be amazing! I mean a lot of farmers love Deutz-Fahr combines, thus they have a good reputation. Please, could anyone explain what this stop of production involves? I don´t like what has happened to Deutz-Fahr since the German brand was bought by Same Trattori... Claas and Same machines are sold by the same dealers in Italy as Claas products are usually sold by the best tractor dealerships in some European countries. For instance, they are sold along Renault tractors in France, you can see them sold by Valtra dealers in Finland and I think they used to be sold by Fendt dealers in Germany before AGCO appeared... Every country has a different approach.

Yes,I'd like to see Claas get Deutz-Fahr. I heard though that SLH sold way too much for them in 1996. They have been looking for a tractor manufacturer for awhile now. I do not think that Partek would sell Valtra to them, they seem to be doing quite well on their own,and do not wish to sell.

Could someone tell me where you read this interview? It sounds like it's not clear wether it's forage harvesters or combines too. Could someone explain if there is still a deal with Agco to produce combines in Denmark and if so what kinds of combines are produced there for SLH? An American dealer magazine said that Agco was talking to someone about getting a self propelled forage harvester and they were planning to produce forage equipment in Europe (Netherlands I think). Does anybody know if Fendt dealers still sell Claas in Germany. I would think it difficult to change dealerships with Agco's buying Fendt. How do you feel Deutz-Fahr combines compare to Claas?

This interview has been published in a spanish publication "Agrotécnica", and they have translate this from an italian one "Trattori". I think i could translate to english (or something similar) and i will put it on the forum, but i don't know if the interview is all in the publication or if that is only a summary.

Interview to Vittorio Carozza President of SDF made by Furio Oldani in Machine&Trattori, published on Agrotecnica January 2002. He speaks of his sons and he said "Aldo and Francesco will have in the future diferent roles, everyone whit his own autonomy and responsability; they must colaboratte because they are two but the group is one and indivisible" One then quickly thinks about the EIMA rumors of Claas and the group. Mr Carozza says "This is not true. Deutz Fahr doesn't be sold, we are only verifying the posibility of a of reaching an agreement of collaboration with Claas to allow to the two nets to mingle their respective products, without none has to give or to sell anything the other one. It is obvious that the concessionaires Claas for reasons of geographical association to the mark that they represent is he more interesting the tractors DF that the Lamborghini, but of here to supose on its bandage is a distance. The agreement on the other hand allows to close the production of gathering machinery definitively DF whose administration for us represented more a problem that an opportunity"
It's curius than DF left the production of harvest equipment when Claas has lost their tractor and is searching for a new tractor brand. That seems a previous condition.
I'm a client of DF and i agree with European A than i don't like what happened to DF since it was purchased, and i agree with Woodbeef than is good to see DF and Claas together.
Awaiting more news of Ag Machinery

I'm agree with Xavier, i don't like what happen to DF since they are a member of the same group, but i disagree with you about the future of DF and Class. I'm a DF user, I have a combine and a tractor, but i don't like Claas. If my next machine have to be a Deutz-Claas i think i'll go to another brand. Deutz don't stop the production of combines. Only small combines are built in Droninborg The Topliner are still built in Germany, i think. DF Ectron, Fendt 5180 and a model of MF are the same combine, designed by Fahr but built in Droningborg.
