Yesterday I was visiting the LELY plant in Maasland Netherlands, whit the Farmtoyclub. They had 3 tractors to show. One 2 wheeldrive, small one. From this type they had made 6 models they were no succes One prototype, a six wheeler. Whit ford engine. And a 2 wheeldrive LELY hydro 150 based on a ford. They had a hydrostatic transmission. Lely never enter the tractor markets. If I can get pictures from someone I will mail them to Agmachinery

Interesting..... From what I understand they were in the tractor business in the 1970s: Hydro 90 with a 6 cyl MWM engine and a hydro tranny, with a 80 hp hydraulically driven dual speed pto
Hydro 150 with a 152 hp Ford engine, high/low hydro tranny, and was an early bi-di systems tractor
The prototype forward control Supertrac with a 178hp Perkins engine was never produced

Hi Woodbeef,
too bad to hear about your mom in law. Where did you get the info from about the Lely tractor? I really admire your knowledge. Although I'm also from Holland I didn't even know that. Saw a brochure of these tractors once at the Dutch ag miniature show. Too bad I didn't buy it back then.

I will look carefully too, to find a picture. I have the Lely Hydr. 90 miniature (scale 1/32). When I'll get a change to scan a picture I will send. A site with nice foto's from diverse tractors: take a look: www.tractorpulling.nl/foto/merken.htmCan somebody tell me something about the Leyland-models??? any connections with Lely??

I've never heard of any connection between Lely and Leyland. Leyland bought Nuffield, which was known as BMC before that. Then Marshall bought Leyland. JWD still makes the old Leyland/Marshall tractors, but with Perkins power, and a different rear axle.
