I saw a Valtra HiTech at a Cat dealer recently and took a look. All it said was HiTech, it didn't have a model number. From what I could tell it was a 4 cyl. model. The store was closed so I couldn't ask about it. They must be new dealers for Valtra, that was the only model they had. From what I saw it is a pretty nice tractor, wish I had a dealer closer to me so I could check them out better.

I know Woodbeef will jump all over this one, but.......Where was this dealer at? Was it brand new or possibly a trade in? I've never seen a Cat dealer that sold other brands of farm machinery.

It was at a Cat dealer at ElCampo,Tx. I went by there a couple years ago and they had a new SAME Silver for sale. Looks like they dropped SAME for Valtra. We travel through there every so often on the way to the Gulf. I am from central Texas. Where abouts you from Joe?

Valtra huh.....never heard of them myself!! Seriously though, yes they are a very well engineered, dependable, overbuilt tractor. Check them out at www.valtra.com The option list is staggering to say the least. Then once you wade through it,comes the tough part. Deciding on which of 9 colors to choose, three of them are metallic. I'm sure that if you drive one, you'll buy one!! The model number should have been, either below the Valtra name,or if it is a newer one up close to the cab on the upper part of the hood side panel. I have seen some from 2001 production with out any model numbers also. Just for curiosity, which color was it? Joe,on a side note. Was talking to my local Rainbow dealer at the T.O. show about the Agco MT700s. He told me that if he wanted to sell Challengers he would have to become an Agco/Cat dealer, but only if the local Cat dealer did not want the Challengers.

I'm in North Texas. The family farm and ranch is about 100 miles west of Ft. Worth, near Graham. I spend most of my time in Dallas though because of my job in telecommunication. I love the city, but I really do miss the place. El Campo, huh? The dealer's post above is sort of a surprise to me. I guess because all of the Cat dealers I've seen around here were strictly and unaplogetically in construction. I've seen one Cat Challenger and that was sitting on a lot here in Dallas. I've never seen a Lexion, period.... In all my trips to the Panhandle and out west I've never seen a piece of Cat Ag machinery working in a field. Where in Central Texas?

Mr N.IL_Jim just wondering. Since you are selling the Cat Challenger... Are you going to sell the Agco Challenger and other Agco machinery? And what do you think other Cat dealers will do?

Woodbeef, the tractor was red.I saw a couple of 100 series during the summer, they were red also. Joe, I live 30 miles south of Temple, near Granger. There are a several Challengers around here, only know of one Lexion. Been down south and there are quite a bit of Challengers and a few Lexions there. The ElCampo dealer also sells Claas, I beleive he was a Claas combine dealer before the Cat/Claas marketing arrangement.Have seen a few Claas green machines in that area.
