Has anyone had a chance to check out any of the new tractors from Valtra yet? I'm interested in hearing comments on the S series and HiTech 6750 low-revver.
Are either of them out for general consumption in Europe yet?

I don´t think these Series are available in the market by now. Since I saw an S Series model displayed in the FIMA Farm Equipment Exhibition on April 2001 I look forward to seeing them performing in the field.
The equipment of this machine is amazing and the finishing is unusual for a tractor.
We should chill out Woodbeef!!

Chill out......sure,especially if you're buying the cold ones!!
I'm waiting to see a S series in metallic green myself. The metallic red ones look good, but they should look even better in the green!!

I was climbing arournd in one (S-series) at a show recently. Seems like a pretty nice machine while standing still indoors at least. Only think I was not too crazy about was the interior gave me the impression of being mad of too thin plastic. Perhaps it was a pre-production model and they will improve the finnish(!) later. That would not matter much though.
I hope it will be a good reliable machine. If we needed (perhaps in a few years) a tractor that size I would like the Valmet no less than the 8020s or Magnums. I'm really curious if the reversible-drive will allow for a decent work-enviroment while molboard plowing. None of the other tractors that size allows me to turn as much as I'd like to.
Now let's see what happens to the tractor in it's first years of production. New stuff always have problems and this is newer than most.

Hello Woodbeef! The 6750 is sold here in Denmark right now at a speciel price along with the 8350. I dont think the S series is availble anywere, but I saw it in Hannover (Germany) in late 2001. It was also at show in Denmark at the LIB messe in nov. 2000. But it was impossible to see the tractor inside.... And now that I see your talking of prices of tractors my local McCormick dealer has a 2000 Valtra-Valmet 8950 with only 100 hours on the clock painted in color like the Claas green. The price is 398.000 Dkr. = 32600 UK £.<br>I once checked out the Us off. NH website and looked at the used machinery, and the tractors in USA is far more expensive than the machinery here in west -europe. My local NH dealer told me, that they were thinking of export series 70 Fords to USA, and even with the cost of shipping they could earn more, than selling them here in Denmark, and the price in Denmark isent low because the tractors has a bad repytation....I will try to find a price for you on that new 6750, if you want..... JH Denmark.

Hey Jesper, That 8950 price does not sound too bad. That would come out to approx. $80,000 CDN. It's a tad bit too big for me though. Sure if you could get some prices for me on the 6750 Eco-Power it would be interesting. To check prices of used tractors over here go to www.prairielinks.com they have quite a few sales sites listed. The best one here in Canada is www.agdealer.com
