Your all familar with the Case IH MX 270 (280hp) tractor? I assume so. Well during this past summer their has been a prototype working on 4 quads instead of 4 wheels!
2 big ones at the back and 2 smaller ones at the front. Problems have been turning circle but apart from that its creating a lot more pull off the standard cummins engine.
I have not seen it myself but it came from a very reliable source within Case, who has seen it working.
Anybody out there heard or seen anything

As far as I know Case IH has tried this before in the first Magnums. Case IH even presented the concept in some exhibitions...

Lee where is that M.U.T. running around? It's not in the Basildon area is it?
The bean counters I bet are sitting back and watching the Cat-Agco deal. It will be hashed out I'm sure to no end. NH has already stated(and built)they want a 2 track machine(possibly from their involvment with the early Cats). Plus cost will come in to play 4 tracks cost more than 2 I'm sure.

Woodbeef,
The M.U.T has been up near yourkshire somewhere, not a million miles from Doncaster, so I am told.
Having spoken to the contact from Case, he said it would put 10-15% on the current price of a Mx 270, which is £48,000 delivered. So that means that the tracked version would be about £55,200 delivered. The equivilant JD (8420 T) is £80,000 delivered as is the Class/CAT/Massey/Fendt/Agco......... will be £80,000 ish as well. So the Case yet again is the best value.
