Went to the annual show of new Claas products in Sweden last night. I was told the new MT700 Challengers were shown in Bolonga, Italy this week. Claas apparently chose not to show them at the Agritechnica show since they wanted to use their limited space to promote mainly German (home market) producs such as Lexion-evolution models and Jaguars. Italy being a big market for Crawlers they decided to show the new Challenger there. This is the first i*ve heard of it being shown in Europe. Nothing in the magazines up here about it as of yet.I also heard a rumor of a new 190 hp NH tractor. Anybody heard this?

The new Claas track tractors were shown on the Eima in Italy. If someone has a picture of the tractor at this show and maybe some info on the series, please please please send it as quick as possible to me. If i know more, you'll hear about it... Don't know anything yet about the 190 hp NH.

I have heard of a new NH TM180 or 185 based on the new TM165 Ultra with the heave duty rearaxle and 42" wheels. The terraglide frontaxle with suspension will come with brakes and a 50 km/h gearbox in Germany.JH Denmark

Two new models next year NH told us. A 190 hp and a 175 hp. Both can drive 50 km per hour and have stronger rear axle.

How large is the estimated market for the large tracked tractors in Europe? How much of the market is held by CIH,CAT/Claas,Deere?

Sorry Woodbeef, I donĀ“t have too much figures. As far as I know rubber-tracked tractors (specially Challengers) are well sold in UK and Germany. Even Case IH sold quite a lot of Quadtracs in UK (always taking into account these red ones are huge models for the European market). Smaller steel-tracked tractors are well sold in European countries like Italy and Spain. These 100 hp tractors are very much appreciated to work on hills (regions like Tuscany, for instance). Despite ChallengerĀ“s higher centre of gravity disadvantage, their market is growing in Italy. Although Claas Challenger sales are simbolic in some countries (only 4 units were sold in Spain in 2000 year), since 1997 Claas has sold 1000 Challengers in Europe.
Sorry I do not have information about Deere T models.
