Is it it true that MF is coming back in the four wheel drive. I,ve heard a lot of rumor. If the do. It wil be a better sale than the AGCOSTAR.

Suppose they could just take the McConnel based AGCOSTAR and paint it MF red, that's pretty much what the articulated (big ones, not MF1200) MFs were before AGCOSTAR anyway. Problem is it's already an old design cabwise, no powershift etc.Developing a completely new Articulated machine to compete with STX (CIH), TJ (NH) and the 9020 (JD) machines would cost more money than i belive AGCO have, or are willing to put into an already crowded market at the moment. The good thing about the AGCOSTAR was it's low price (likely due to an old, simple and proven design), about 30% (I could be missinformed, please correct me if I'm wrong) lower then the competitors tractors of the same size.(Reminds me of russian KIROVETS, but that's not polite to say.)Since that policy didn't sell enough tractors they'd have to come up with something as good as, or better than JD/CIH/CAT/NH/Buhler, and that would be costly.Could be wrong though, just speculating. www.kirovets.comBig tractor for little money (=big problems?)

Yep,I pretty much agree with Laapa on this one. The market is already too competitive to go out and build a bend-in-the-middle type of tractor from scratch. Now if they tried something along the old IH 2+2 concept (like CIH was playing with before the buy-out)it just might be different enough to work! Valtra seems to be doing it with their X-series,they just need to bump it up to the 6 cylinder models. www.grazelandfarm.com

Woodbeef, I acctually ran into the president of Valtra Traktorcompany a while back while looking at an S-series prototype. Next to it was a X-series small articulated Valtra City-tractor.I tried to convince the president (don't remember his name right now) to combine the two ideas and get a 2+2 version of the S-series.He was very polite and called the idea "interesting"...Bytheway, Johanna Herlevi was at Valtras monter at the Agritechnica show signing postcards. God I love tractorshows....This post had very little to do with articulated MFs.

Latest issue of Classic Tractor magazine says they can confirm MF is working on a 300-400 wheeled tractor. I guess the engineers didn't learn anything from reading this website.

Hey Laapa, since when have most of the engineers ever listened to us un-educated ones? Especially the ones at the "Big 3"!! Some of the smaller manufacturers do,but not the big ones!

I have no idea when (or perhaps if?) they will be introduced, I'm suprised to hear they are working on something at all.
