i have a toy carraro 920
was wondering if any one new anything about these machines
i cannot find anything on the internet, i know they were built by a different company to antarrio carraro, i think they were built by the carraro axle company, but there is nothing in there history to indicate this!
is this machine a badges SAME or something, just like the agrifull and fiat?....
a italian friend of mine sent me a pic of a 98.4, but he doesn't know any more about these machines!.........
so is there any brochures out there?.....any knowledge?......if there is suffient information i will put it on my site in the future,
for the mean time i will put the pic of the toy and real tractor on the front page on my site.......problem is my host won't let me update my site at the moment (i think its down for service repairs)
any information is greatly appreciated
thanks

Hey, Pudding, I remember seeing one of those Carraro tractors in Italy years ago. Wasn't the same, but similar. In one of the unversity library's foreign machinery periodicals from years back, I remember seeing pics of Renault tractors with the Carrarro name on them. They were bigger than the orchard vineyard models. I suspected that Renault tractors took over sales in Italy under their name possibly. Just a guess. The tractors had the square hood kind of like the 1960's Allis Chalmers tractors which looked similar to Renaults.

Hi Pudding,
I believe Atonio Carraro is not the Manufacturer, of the Tractors, You mean. The had been manufactured in same Town in Italy, where A.C. is still in busines. But Antonio Carraro only builts Compacts. The Carraros You mean, had been introduced in Germany in the beginnig 80´. We have seen them at the DLG-Show in Frankfurt (now Agritechnica) in 1980. I take some Brochures, which I still own. The Engines where aircooled at the 58.2 and watercooled in the 98.2. I don`t believe that they where badge-engeniered. They don`t look so. But also they must not be very sucsessfull here. I never have seen one again. Importer was Carraro Vertrieb in Gebenbach/Bavaria. They had never been at a Farm-Show here after that.

Couldn`t open Agriservice-side totally at the Moment. But at Kenjars link, is the Mark with the Horses like at my Brochure. A.C. Mark has Horses back at back. Other Carraro has Runinng Horses (3, I believe..). So they seem to be still in Business, and use Deutz-Engines.

There were some on the UK market in the 1980's, I don't know if any were sold though. Like Kevanos says no link to Antonio Carraro. A few are for sale over at machine finder, a couple even look like yours pudding, only bigger!! They also have one that looks like a small badge engineered Renault from 1970's. The cab used on those advertised in UK was a similar shape to Fiat, ie B and C post sharply angled in to each other at top. Don't know if same builder though. I guess I actually know very little about them!

hey guys, the information for me is overwelming! thank you seems we uncovered something interesting i had found a few for sale over the last 2 years when searching italian sites for decent pictures of fiats and same tractors but never thought anything about carraro tractors until i found this model on ebay again i knew they built jd tractors, but didn't realise all the other tractors they built and there association too antanio carraro......thank you i wonder how many models and series were built, cause the one in the picture is a 98.4 and the toy is a 920 fred.....you are talking about the fiat cabs, probably find they were and aftermarket cab i actually have another picture of a 98.4 with a cab, i found it on my own computer (i have 1700 pictures of tractors!) they built smaller tractors and those small 2 wheeled tractors with trailers behind them! i am going to look out for more information on these machines, could be something interesting for my website, wonder if they built a dozer?? thankyou pudding

Hey Pudding,
I've seen a photo of a model 138.4 (140hp). It looked similiar to the 98.4. The number 4 at the end would stand for 4wd, the first numbers would designate its size. Maybe the number 8 is for this series. I am only guessing here.

In 1972 Renault started to sell Tractors with Carraro front-axles for there 4wd Tractors. In 1974 they bought a part of Carraro and also sell Carraros under Renault brand. A part of this Tractors had Carraro and Perkins engines. As I read in my book the Renault Carraro had been built like 1987. Don´t know, what happend after that with Carraro-Tractors.
