Hey, have you ever heard of a monk named Bonifacius? He was the guy who brought Christianity to Friesland. The Friesians killed him.. You know why?? They asked him if the Friesian speech was a language or a dialect. "No", replied Bonifacius: "it is a speech-defect" What is your language?? werent you from Catalonia? I didn't knew that was an official language. Hey, i'm not getting paranoid when you use my name.. I was just thinking perhaps i might be a little famous....

F6L913:
Nothing to worry about !! The joke about Bonifacius was just a joke. ;D
I think Fries is just as Catalan: a language on its own, not connected to any country or common government.
Hey, keep up speaking your own language !!
At this moment, i'm listening to the redneck rockers group "Normaal", quite famous in the eastern part of the Netherlands. They exist about 27 years, making rock n' roll and more folkish music, also with political messages about farm living.
I'm proud of my dialect and way of living. In the big modern Europe, everyone is loosing it's identity. A reason the more to keep regional values and dialects.
Woodbeef: maybe you're right. And you ??
