Lexion 600 ???

I think the whole of FW is poor to be honest. I now find myself trawling the internet for the information the FW used to supply. They have put the advertising prices up also and by doing this there are very few compnaies advertising in the new machinery section - have a look and compare it to an issue 5 years ago.

The crop section is pretty dismal - we now get far more information sent free from various chemical companies and agronomists. You could say that info from somebody like syngenta is biast towards their products - possibly but when you take the average from all the sources you get some fairly accurate info.

The livestock section is something that I never really look at, but if I wanted some info I buy the Farmers Guardian.

Then the money section with market prices comes through daily from various sources.

The used machinery section has improved because its grown. Soon the FW will be a copy of the Farmers Trader with just used machinery in it.

Lastly as we all already know the web site is now just complete rubbish.

I think some of the articles that FW machinery has written over the last few months have been quite good but there is never enough of them. 5 years ago the magazine was far bigger. They say that they have 70,000 readers - I dont think so as many local guys to us dont even buy it any more and have the Farmers Guardian instead for all round general news.

Profi for me offers far more to read but I dont buy it to get info on crop husbandry.

Had my invite to the roadshow today. There are to be seven full day demonstrations at various locations throughout England.

"3000 acres per season with only one combine and one tractor - the new Lexion 600 and Xerion tractor".

Thats some boast for UK conditions.

I wonder if the UK journos will also get a look at the new Atles and new top end forager. Strange that the new combine will be shown to British press ahead of a German launch!

I have seen the 600 from a distance (if think). looks Know different really to the 580 apart from there is not rotary screen on the rads and it has a "rose bud" grain tank. Apparently if it was parked in the yard next to a 580 you wouldn't notice it at a glance. We to also had the leaflet for the 3000 Acres with one tractor and combine. You would hope that a 600 will be able to do more than that, with must people putting that through a 580.

BTW....I like the Claas machines also, cause I worked with an old SF...and it was easy to work with it and on it...others like Matador or Mercator also had been very simple build....mechanics friend I would say.... ;D

For me the Xerion is a Tool-Carrier, that can be used as a Tractor...not a Tractor that can be used as a Tool-Carrier...and maybe the onliest one in world which cabn do so at the moment, as Horsch didn´t built the Terratrac anymore.

....the Vredotrac is nearly the same as a Xerion

but ...as far as I know Vredo company is much smaller then Claas...so the Vredotrac must be an expensive toy for them, too. And I never have seen one at work and in real only in Hannover.

Expensive toy. The same could be said for the Xerion!!!

Of course, Vredo is much smaller than Claas, and whilst there might not be so many in Germany, I reckon that Vredo has as many Tracs out at work as there are Claas Xerions.

How many Xerions are there out there - 120 tops?

I didn´t mean only Germany, Elav
...I´m not that far away from the border to NL, Belgium or France, and even when I have travelled trough this countries, I never have seen one. You must know, that NL and B have much more contractors then Germany has.
Around here we have no articulated tractors or tracked ones like the challengers. Biggest tractor here, which I have seen at work is a 500 hp Schlüter used for recultivation and Yes....a Xerion.
BTW: If You have a tractor with more then 200 hp around here You´re Farm must be very big...or You are a contractor....
