THe Lexion 600 will appear in due course, probably sooner rather than later as I believe a press day has already been arranged at Claas at Saxham.
However, the real 'catch' this year is likely to be the new Class 8 Massey Ferguson combine which I believe will be field trialled in the UK this harvest.
Eyes peeled!

On the subject of Claas, I hear that the first new Xerion owner in the UK is desperate to get rid of his tractor. They ought to fit it with tracks and get the full power to the ground. Elav

Elva, Do you know what are his reasons for wanting rid of it? and what type applications he was using it for?

Quite a umber of reasons. However, I believe there are two main ones. First, the owner feels that it is not able to put enough power to the ground.
Second, it could have something to do with the fact that the tranny also packed up and needed replacing!
New Xerion, same old problems!
What do you think Mr Xerion? How long will Claas continue to waste money on this project?

Hello Elav (steven) Hows things ? I think it would be better if Tom Jewers answered your question as it really is a Claas UK problem . I have also heard about Farmeco´s problems but to be honest where they real problems or more a case of the wrong application of the machine ? What was the problem with the tranny ,why would they have to change it ? A transmission change takes about two and a half hours and he wouldn´t have to pay a cent if it was a Claas/ZF fault . I never could understand why they bought the transport version instead of a systems tractor . As for not getting the power on the ground perhaps a better choice of tyres would have been better You have seen the pictures on here of our machine and I can post more if you like ,it has now done over 2600 hrs without any major problems ,we have had minor software issues but nothing that has stopped us from working and all these problems were sorted out within a day . Even you must admit you can not compare the 781 series (3300) to the old 033 series (3000) it is a totaly different machine . It has got to be good to stand up to the hammering we give it and as a lot of the guys say we are f*****g animals Please don´t judge the Xerion on the machine at Farmeco as I said it would be more appropreate for a representative from Claas UK to comment on the problems as I am a 1000 miles away and have only heard the rumors I am not to sure if they are wasting money on the Xerion here in Deutschland you have got to wait a long time for one as they can´t build them fast enough. Elav why don´t you come over to us for a day and check the xerion out for yourself then you can make your own mind up I think you are not that far away and I am sure if you did it pretty fast you could beat Profi to it next month ;D Its a geniune offer but you would have to bring the beer

Elva, It is the transport version i take it? I have only driven the tractor version at the factory, and was very impressed, granted I didnt have any attachments on the back, but one bad machine wouldnt put me off and besides different drivers ect.

Mr Xerion -
Interesting comments. I think if I was in the market for a Claas tractor and want a CVT tranny then I'd rather wait for the new Atles.
I note your commenst about Claas not being able to build them fast enough for the German market. However, tractor manufacture is a global business. You cannot survive simply by making a tractor for one market.
I agree that the new and old Xerions are completely different, but surely the basic concept is the same?
The concept has never been that popular. What has changed?
I'd like to take you up on your offer to come and have and spend a day with you on the new Xerion. Dutch of Belgium beer?
I am not too worried about Profi getting their first. Profi might be big in Germany, but it does not have the same following in the UK.
Lets fix up a meeting.

Steven, I honestly dont know a local farmer to me, that does not get Profi every month as other mags such as the FW are getting poorer and poorer every month. With regard to the Lexion 600, apparently there is one working somewhere thats being backed up by a fleet of Krampe trailers ! Lee

Leemsutton -
I take it you mean that the machinery coverage in FW is getting poorer by the month?
Big Lexion - it is not just Claas that is looking at a new top end combine. However, big market is still for a mid-size machine.
